It's good to hear that you rank it so high. :) I'm always lousy at keeping track of the best releases of the year. Thanks for the tip! I don't recall ever even hearing of Scapes. Already added it to my "need to check" -list. In case you haven't heard, Mors Principium Est released their new album yesterday. Can't really say anything about it yet 'cause I've only listened to it once.

Haha. Well, at least you were honest and told it straight. I had listened to it a few times before you posted your last shout. It seems to be by far their best record up to date. :)

Oh, it is? :D Well, luckily I decided to buy them for that price. Haven't had the time to check out the new Ghost Brigade yet. I'm like half a year behind in reading these local music magazines. It feels kinda silly to be like "whoa, they've released a new album?!", check it from the internet and find out that the album actually came out in the spring and I'm just now hearing about it for the first time. Ghost Brigade has to cut some queues or we'll be in the summer of 2015 when I'll hear it for the first time. Is it any good?

It sure kicks some serious donkey ass. I've only now began to notice how good even the debut is. I've already been thinking about the both of the albums 'cause they don't cost that much on our scale. 20 € would get me both of the albums as usually people in Finland have to pay that much for a single new album.

Yo! Have you checked out Coprolith's new album? Didn't expect too much after their debut but I suppose I should have. Death March is one helluva album! Absolutely awesome! It's so far one of the best albums of 2014, if not the best.

Twoje porównanie z użytkownikiem Toivoton616 wypada: SUPER Muzyka, którą obydwoje lubicie zawiera Rapture, Swallow the Sun, Sargeist, Alghazanth oraz Enochian Crescent. Dobry gust muzyczny :)

I guess Turku and Helsinki are the cultural capitals of Southern Finland. As a matter of fact, Turku is the former capital and Helsinki is the current capital of Finland. Visiting those two cities will give you a very good hint of what's available in Southern Finland. Btw, have you found affordable housing? Our trip to London might be cancelled due to flights costing so terribly much. For the price of the flights we would almost get a week at Southern Europe, including flights and hotels. Basically our plans are wide open and we should be boarding in less than two weeks from now. :/

Oh, that's plenty of time for one city. I bet you'll have some spare time as well. We're planning a trip to Great Britain in August. We're not quite sure how long we'll be spending in each city, but we've thought of spending three days in London. From what I've understood, London is a giant compared to Helsinki. I suppose there's much more to see as well, so I'm afraid we're screwed with the planned schedule. Nevertheless I'm aiming to attend a gig or at least visiting a metal bar there.

Indeed. It's amazing how they think in such a similar way as the old members. It's good luck that you don't have the time for festivals as there appears to be no festivals in either of those cities at the time of your visit. Not at least any that I would have found out. I bet there are some gigs you can attend, though. I've heard that especially in Helsinki there are a lot of rock / metal oriented bars that have gigs as well. Hopefully some interesting band has a gig when you're in town.

PS. I'm listening the Sawhill Sacrifice's album currently. I realized that I have heard this once before on bandcamp or youtube or something. It's quite not my cup of tea - a bit too raw for me. It's decent, though. Reminds me a bit of Totalselfhatred but in the end doesn't come even near to their magnificience.

You're right about Ruins being an awesome song. It reminds me helluva lot of Dimmu Borgir, especially their Death Cult Armageddon -era and Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, to be more precise. In my opinion the song could be taken directly from the DCA album. It's a luck that DCA is one of the best Dimmu albums ever in my opinion. The MPE's new line-up amazed me. I can't understand how they change both of their composing members and yet are able to create a new album that sounds exactly like what you could have expected to hear without any line changes. It's incredible. Leaves me speechless. The guys obviously have a lot of talent. I haven't listened to neither of those new OG albums enough, to be honest. They're on my waiting list. I've given them a few spins and judging by that they sound good. I'm afraid there are very limited festivals left in August. The only ones that in August that come to my mind are located way more north. I'll try to think of something for you.

Sorry, I've totally forgotten to answer... 0 X Í S T and October Falls have been on my to check -list. I've given the new Noumena a chance and it's a decent one. For some reason I hated the band when I first heard it back in 2006 or so. Sawhill Sacrifice has evaded me. I'll have to add them to my list. Did you like the latest Shade Empire? I was disappointed with it, to be honest. The previous SE albums have been by far the best releases of the year. SE has been one of my top bands ever since Sinthetic. However, Omega Arcane sounds to me too much like Dimmu Borgir's Abrahadabra. It has too much acoustic and otherwise just kinda elevator music like parts in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't have any new Finnish releases to recommend to you. I'd suggest the new Dark Tranquillity but it's Swedish. :P Hmmm... Do you like Omnium Gatherum or Mors Principium Est? They both released new albums earlier this year and they're worth the dime. Attending any festivals this summer, are we?

I'm in a better situation as I've never listened to EC much. My ears are fresh to give The Crescent a chance. I've listened the album multiple times now and I must admit that it's surprisingly good. There are only few songs that aren't too much to my taste but there are a few killers as well.

Yo! I saw you've listened Enochian Crescent a lot. You must check The Crescent's debut out. I never liked EC too much but in my opinion The Crescent's debut is a decent album. For example here you can check out at least one song live:
