Fascinating article if a little to short in current issue (109) on the audio cassette, there is definitely a love for the cassette still and the art of mixing a good cassette is highly important to the mood of it for the listener. It's easy to put a list together on spotify etc. however when mixing a tape your listening to the song and then working out what follows it, not just randomly picking out tracks that you like. I hope this isn't an art form that becomes lost on a generation, when just buying random tracks off albums on itunes, almost makes the mixing process obsolete as it's the first few tracks are the main singles then the rest is filler. The importance of a good track 1 side 2 is being lost to those people that don't mix tapes any more. Check out the recently released (last year) tape release of tape fear on fierce panda, well worth the money for a hand numbered pink cassette :-) happy listening.
