I'll just dive right into this one. Fly By Night was one of two albums released in the year 1975. This is the first album with Neil Peart on the drums (also writing most of the lyrics, which is true for every album from this point forward). This one is a marked improvement over their first effort. I'd still call it one of their best. It's a very solid album from the first to the last. I can safely say that every song enters at least the 'like' category for me with the majority going beyond that. My personal favourite on this album is Beneath, Between & Behind. I don't really have any specific reason, maybe because it makes me think of the Legend of Zelda for whatever weird reason. Of course, one of their most famous songs is on here, the titular track Fly By Night. That song is awesome and always will be one of their greatest hits. The opening track Anthem is a killer way to kick off this awesome album. There's one song I feel is often forgotten on this album and it's strange really because I feel it's one of the album's best. The mostly acoustic Making Memories is among my all-time favourites. And, of course, I can't forget everyone else's favourite from this album, the epic By-Tor And The Snow Dog. This is one of Rush's essentials and must be listened to by all true fans. This song is like many of Rush's epics as it seems to make time pass by far quicker and this song certainly doesn't feel like it clocks in at 8:39. Of course, this is just a baby length for Rush as compared to what was to come in the future. There is one more song I would like to mention before I wrap it up. Make of it what you will, but I believe it cements Rush's status as a band for nerds. This song is entitled Rivendell. Want to guess what it's about? It's about exactly what you think it's about, you LOTR nerds. It even sounds like a song being sung by an elf sitting next to a fire playing a lute. Well, time for my little one word rating thingy. Fly By Night = Electric. I don't mean in sound, this album just produces an electric atmosphere. Well, that about covers it. Next is one of Rush's most maligned albums. You may be surprised to hear what I think of it. Next up will be Caress of Steel.

I'm going to guess you like Caress of Steel by your cliffhanger there. I know I do.
