Roses Are Red's music is a bittersweet mixture of beauty and power, hailed as "the next big thing" by AbsolutePunk.net, with lyrics described as "intelligent" by Alternative Press Magazine. The group’s live performance, graceful yet explosive, has allowed their music to strike the hearts of fans of every genre under the rock umbrella. The band has toured alongside everyone from Norma Jean and Bullet for My Valentine to Hawthorne Heights and My Chemical Romance, rocking with unbridled energy and emotion, night after night.

Monday, October 16th

Skyshaper Tour featuring:
Covenant, Imperative Reaction, ROTERSAND

Main Room – $17 Advance, $20 Day of show, 7:30PM

“Once one reads the band's own bio and discovers that much of Covenant's music has been influenced by the film Blade Runner, it's difficult to avoid looking deep into the Swedish trio's lyrics to find references to the philosophical examination of man versus machine or God versus man. On their sixth record, it's in there somewhere, especially with lyrics such as "We are the men/Silent and cold." The now-veteran band also continues its club-friendly EBM, which plays like new romantic artists Human League or Gary Numan with twice the tempo.” – allmusic.com

Zion I, The Grouch

Main Room - $8 Advance, $10 Day of show, 8PM

This trio of genre-benders has made a name for itself on the Bay Area scene by successfully mixing spiritualism and hip-hop. Oakland's MC Zion and DJ/producer Amp Live blend hip-hop and trip-hop beats with lyrics focused on a message of unity, hope, and spiritual awareness. After a couple of indie hits, the trio slowly made inroads while opening for rap royalty like De La Soul, Rakim, and Run-D.M.C.

Their new album, “True & Livin',” is their third full-length release. Organic, soulful compositions, conscious and insightful vocal wordplay and lush strings, horns and bass lines comprise the fabric of their best album to date, which features Talib Kweli, Del, Aesop Rock and the Gift Of Gab.
