Album Review – Breakpoint (1993) – 6/10
If I would rename this album, I would call it “A Selection of Thrash Taken from Others” because that what it sounds like. The album is filled with Accuser-like vocals, riffs which are so generic that it could be played by any band from the late 80’s or 90’s or even the NWORTM (New wave of retro thrash metal) bands. However, saying this, the overall tune is alright and solos are entertaining for bopping around your lounge on a day with nothing else much to do. Songs like Self Preservation or Killing Machine is where the most fun comes along with the music sounding like Assassin and reminding me of somewhat of Slayer with the way the pickups are used on the guitars and solos are brought in. Overall, this album is just another ordinary thrash band, thrashing away in the background, however, good it is played it is still going to be as generic as the next.
