hahaha, we were talking about how you thought Lebron wasn't clutch and couldn't win a trophy (paraphrasing your feelings here), and now what?! slight victory for me.

I admittedly know little about modern-day Korea aside from pop culture stuff, but I've always wanted to visit urban centers like Seoul or Busan. Getting to know the culture and food would be fascinating and finding something to do there would be easy. Exploring the city and hitting up the arcade scene and so on. Also, the beautiful women.

Yeah, it's been one of my favorites ever since I saw it for the first time. Few other shows evoke as much emotion and wonder as Mushishi does. It just has that soothing and relaxing factor, similar to Yokohama. A beautiful work of art for sure. Also, you're living in Korea now? That's awesome man! One of the three places in Asia I've always wanted to visit besides Singapore and Japan.

You're right I really don't, just thought I would start expanding! And you listen to some pretty great stuff including some artists I've been meaning to listen to.

Yeah, I do need to be more social but in the right ways. People say go to clubs or bars and that's not a good way to meet people to me. You are right in that I should just stick to my interests. I am bound to come across some interesting people that have common interests with me.

I actually don't have a degree as I never got scholarships or anything. Always hated school anyways and the whole higher education thing is a scam in this country, only serves to make you a slave to debt for decades. I want to go to a trade school, those are generally more affordable and I could have a chance to travel since skilled tradesman are always in demand. Meh, I actually really hate it when people refer to the USA as a democracy. As Noam Chomsky says, I consider it an oligarchy, where all the power rests in the hands of the rich and the corporations. This is pretty obvious when you look at what congress does. Very obvious that they are getting bribed. I really don't know what political system would be best since nobody is infallible and people in power are too easily tempted by greed..

Yeah I hear the number of people playing LoL in Korean is massive. Starcraft 2 was a flop even when Wings of Liberty was in beta. Internet cafes were already reporting that barely anyone played it. I dunno, I still trudge on through hoping that the same magic that was in Brood War will come through eventually. Blizzard seems to have gone to shit since Activision took over though, makes me rather sad. I still find the pro scene pretty fascinating and they can put on some good games so it is still fun to watch.

Great music taste. You are so lucky to be living in Korea, I want to go there so bad! Funny to think my obsession with it started from watching professional Starcraft years ago lol. Also enjoyed many Korean movies over the years. Also agree with pretty much everything you wrote in your About Me section. I have always been a loner. I find everyone except my immediate family to be selfish and just looking out for themselves (this is especially true in the USA). The world disappoints me so much that nowadays I just sit on my computer with my videogames and music blaring and shut everything out....

yes it is, I'm really bad at coming up with nicknames so I usually end up using references to songs or albums even when nobody will understand them (while that's of course not the case on lastfm haha). my about me section is just random pictures that I liked ;D btw have you actually read anything by Rousseau himself?

Word man, I'm glad you shared that. I had no idea such a thing went on regarding the employment of Japanese people, what's their explanation for this? I've just 'chosen' Japanese because 1. I find the language itself facinating and beautiful 2. A lot of my favourite stuff (music, cars, comics and movies primarily) is from Japan and 3. the country itself looks beautiful, from the mountains to the urban sprawls. Being a broke college dropout is a bitch, I really want to travel the world and find my place in it. It. In this age of worldwide communication, I can't just accept that the country I was born in is by default where I should excersize my freedoms and die one day. I'm glad you're happy in Korea, seeing people find their true homes inspires me to do the same.

Working in Korea as an English teacher, eh? I've actually had an interest in going down that kind of path myself, although I've had my sights set more on Japan. Language fascinates me. How proficient are you with Korean?

Conóceme

Now I'm working in Korea as an English teacher. I'm loving it.

After a dose of harsh reality called life you tell yourself that people, no matter how friendly, can never be trusted. You ended up being too nice and naive to people that aren't really your friends and they took advantage of you. People like that make this world a darker place than it needs to be by spreading distrust. In the end, the only person that you can rely on is yourself. But there are rare moments when you can rely on selfless and amazing people to get you through tough situations, and because of them you regain your trust of people once again. Life is a constant cycle of these ups and downs. I believe that the essence of living a good life is to find the balance of knowing when to rely on others and when to get through it yourself, to mitigate the stress and time wasted on negative influences and to increase your chances of finding these amazing people that you can trust and receive trust in return.

"Let me tell you this: if you meet a loner, no matter what they tell you, it's not because they enjoy solitude. It's because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them." - Jodi Picoult

People without morals really piss me off, because they never care about consequences. People with morals really care the most, but are always in pain because they often face situations in which they have no choice but to pick their poison and hurt one side or another. The painful reality...I chose to walk.

My whims are governed by logic as much as my head is governed by the heart.

The only thing that keeps me going is my hope for what little humanity is left in this world.

Display pic: Alpha from "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou", or "Quiet Country Cafe". No other manga or book has been able to encapsulate warmth and peacefulness as well as this one has. The scenery is amazing and at times breath-taking, the characters are amicable, and the story unfolds very slowly - making you feel at ease. Many times I wished I could be in that world so I could relax more, appreciate the smaller things in life and not feel so rushed all the time.

R.I.P. Jun Seba AKA Nujabes. Thank you for your inspiration, your encouragement and for your beautiful beats and melodies. I will keep your music alive. It's funny how someone you never met before could make such a difference in your life. I can only hope to touch the number of hearts you have touched through your passion. Rest easy - in peace.

Mainstream music and media is like cigarettes...they kill your taste buds required to understand the difference between right and wrong, left and right, proving a point to pointless jibberish, and from distinguishing gold from garbage. Mainstream music gives you tunnel vision, ruins your identity and rationalizes your mind..Its now used for commercial and economical use, to infuse the future of this world with poison which leads to marginalization of youth..where current leaders of this world be so nervous and worried whether the torch should be passed down to such superficial and shallow-minded people.
(Inspiration for this quote - Automaton by CYNE, from Evolution Fight. "Snap out of it.")

Look at things for the way they are - you must keep emotion away from reason and logic. Do not become the ignorant, stubborn, infant cyclops monkey with tunnel-vision. Accepting your self as a whole - the good and the bad - will be the first step into a completely different world. Such thought could apply to various aspects of life such as religion, politics, society, inter-personal relations and self-evaluation.

There are limits to the senses. Smell, sight, taste, hearing and feeling are bound by chains we call reality. This definition is the source of all constraints. The world is far too limited - this is why you must create your own, a place in your mind free from the forks of reality. Dreams have given me power, emotion and vision. I have learned much from my encounters with them. The only limits to your mind are the ones that you place on yourself as a result of environmental pressures. If you tell me that those experiences were fake or not real, then how do you explain these strong feelings that can never be forgotten? What about the decisions I've made in "real life" as a result of my encounters with dreams?
("Everyone is born free, but everywhere in chains" - Jean-Jacques Rousseau)

These feelings won't last forever, cause life goes on.
Lose some, gain some - until I can't feel anymore.
