After three years of using last.fm, I've listened to 43915 songs and written 96 posts (and 15 journals?), making only 9927 listens in the last year and 13 posts. Which is down quite a lot from last year.

I've averaged 27.2 songs per day, which is less than both last year and the year before.

Overall top ten artists:

A much more static top ten than last year - the top three shuffle places, #6 and #7 swap over (though BSP are fighting their way towards gaining another place after the release of their third album), and Patrick Wolf is the only new entry. At this point, it's getting a lot harder for artists to move up and down my charts due to the sheer number of plays amassed over the last three years. So while there are many new bands I like, they're stuck further down in my top 50 for now - which is why I tend to display one of the rolling charts on my profile these days, rather than the (perhaps somewhat outdated) overall artist and song charts. Though I do wish last.fm would update them more frequently than once a month.

It's evident that most of my top ten didn't get played much at all in the last year, but that the strength of past listening was enough to keep them there - again, it's difficult for newer tracks to make an impact. The TCTC tracks are the only older songs rising, which is unsurprising considering their recent hop to the top of my artist chart.

I find the decline in listening interesting - I wasn't expecting the drop to be quite so pronounced. I wonder whether it will continue to decline next year; only time will tell!
