I just read one of your review on RYM and your system is simply amazing. It is the first time I see this! I wish all those who qualify a disc with decimal points or scale of 1 to 10 do the same. Sometimes it seems that is simple swagger. I also like your taste in music. Cheers :)
Daniel Rossen's EP is great! This and Kindred are the only EPs I listened to this year and I appreciated both of them. I'm not a big jazz enthusiast but I've listened to some of the classics like A Love Supreme and Kind of Blue. Brazilian hip hop scenario is nothing compared to american's, so it's something really new for me. By blackgaze you mean bands like Alcest? I enjoyed some of his work, specially the first album. Les Discrets was also a band I used to like a lot, though it's not as bright as Alcest, in general. Checking those out first kind of spoiled My Blood Valentine, which I would listen to some years after haha. I think some of my favorites are OK Computer, Unknown Pleasures, Either/Or and The Queen is Dead, I always think these are the albums that really changed me or pictured what I exactly felt at the exact time. There are still two that I think are worth mentioning: Clube da Esquina from Milton Nascimento and A Society in Which No Tear is Shed Is Inconceivably Mediocre.
I don't actually have a RYM account, thought I used to write some things about music and art in general in a blog. Yeah, I got into those recently, unfortunately. I used to be completely fixated about metal and classic rock, took me some time to re-evaluate my taste and start looking for some musical variety, and thanks to the internet, only. AnCo for example, I know it's not even close to be underground or anything, but I don't think anyone I know has ever listened to it haha ):
just read some of your reviews in rym, that's a pretty decent work, not to mention really concise at all. i mean, i usually can't stand reading long reviews like pitchfork's. i, personally, am i trying to get some solid concepts about the music i hear haha.
