Hat kid from the "A hat in time" PC game! It was funded on Kickstarter. I absolutely can not wait to play it! First I need to get a better graphics card though. Here's the trailer for the game. The story of the game is: Time is falling apart and it is the job of the brave interstellar-travelling solo Hat Kid to collect all the time pieces and put them back together! But watch out, you're in a race against the evil Mustache Girl, who wants to use time for evil!

It's the same here Mr, i don't know whether to bring a jacket / umbrella or leave the house in a Tank Top. At this crappy weather makes me feel less guilty for my laziness. I'm good , i was off today and had a couple of drinks early in the day , which put me in a buzz mood only to be home around 6 and feeling a bit wired. Have you any plans to go away for the summer ?

Well I was thinking about changing the rules a bit, so that you can't kick anyone anymore when he / she hasn't scrobbled the specific artist, but I am not sure if everybody is happy with that especially since those rules have been established in 2009 or whenever the group was founded, but I see your problem too, that was one big negative point and I almost lost the interest of this group too, especially when you play against someone like TAB.

  • 40belowsummer

Hey thanks for joining the OMG group, if you have question about the rules or anything similar to it, don't hesitate to ask me or the group :) Hopefully you will have fun and can be a long time member and will re-join if you get kicked once or twice.

I'm not sure where I'd be music-listening-wise if not for the internet.... Clicking my fingers to the fucking Lighthouse Family or something probably. My parents were never really into music and certainly I wouldn't have ever got into the various arty/experimental/left-of-field stuff I listen to via my friends... I guess if the internet didn't exist I'd have probably stayed playing video games mind you, since I always preferred that when it wasn't such a social activity. Did you know about stuff like Cloud One before the internet?

  • Issa-Void

In an effort to stay afloat in the rising tide of the internet's various provisions of music, various bands and musicians release vinyl records (usually exclusive or limited in some way) to record stores every year on a Saturday in April. In my experience it tends to bring out the freaks more than anyone else (although the record store near me is located in Letchworth Garden City, which, as George Orwell once noted, is the epicentre of all kinds of quackpots and punytics). One guy was banging on about how many numbered copies of The White Album he'd collected, having, evidently, memorised all of the numbers he's got. He didn't realise I was joking when I asked if he planned to collect them all. This is the third one I've gone to and the second where I have bought nothing. On the other hand I like a lot of record stores (mainly in London) and if a few multi-coloured vinyls every year keeps them in business a little longer (either directly or indirectly) then it's probably no bad thing

Whoa! Nice early beginnings flashback! Thanks! =] It said that I was 25 years old then, now next August I'll be hitting 30..where does the time go?

    Abril 2015
  • Issa-Void

I can't say I'm surprised... It was before Michael Schenker left as well which probably wouldn't have helped matters. Did you get anything/investigate record store day at all?

  • Issa-Void

I would be interested to know what it's like if you do listen to it. The "review ratings" on wikipedia don't fill me with a great deal of confidence, but I've heard "Inheritance" and I don't remember being that appalled.

I was going to make some comment about Scorpions being on some Krautrock compilation I got and how that's clearly an example of no genre definition being perfect (as one would be unlikely to listen to "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and say "Krautrock!")... But then I found out their first album was produced by Conny Plank and suddenly the world just doesn't seem so simple anymore. Tangerine Dream seem to vary between the description you just gave, ambient music, electronica, full-blown progressive rock, everything in between and whatever they were doing on that really soppy covers album they did.

    Abril 2015
  • Issa-Void

That was presumably what Can played when they were on Top Of The Pops? I will have to give it another listen. Although when I said "Krautrock" I was probably not using it in the purest sense (i.e. Julian Cope's definition) insofar as I suspect that when I was thinking that I was thinking of stuff like Edgar Froese's "Ages", Tangerine Dream's "Force Majeure" and Novalis' song "Sonnengeflecht". Although there's something about his synthesizer work that reminds me of the guitar in Neu! as well. (I'm not much of a musicologist by the way). I'll try and track down Sine, thanks for the tip!

Also, I couldn't resist checking out who the "he" in "AmoRoden"'s shout was, and I completely agree that Ed Sheeran is (at least amongst) the most boring musician ever. Lester Bangs probably would have selected Bryan Ferry, but at least Bryan Ferry's music didn't sound like John Major meets the colour beige.

I have listened to one of the Patrick Adams compilations on Spotify... From there I listened to that one album that was about Bees and one of the Universal Robot Band's albums. I fairly regularly listen to that song "My Baby's Got ESP" as well, but Atmosphere Strut is probably my favourite album he's done. They were playing it in some second hand record shop in London and it just hit me as being the joyous combination of two of my great loves: Krautrock and Disco. Are there other albums/songs of his that you would particularly recommend? Thanks for complimenting my musical taste! I can get behind yours as well, albeit yours is considerably larger than mine and as such there are artists high in your charts that I either haven't heard of or only have a rather vague opinion of...

Ahoy, I did wonder for a minute whether or not your hello was a reply to something as I have visited your page before given our mutual affection for spacey-disco music and that hilarious post you made on Robert Wyatt's page which sent all of those other chaps into fits of rage. Seeing as it's not, perhaps it's because I've listened to Astral Weeks twice in a day...? How's it going?

I think it is a painting, and I'm not sure if she's real or not. The painting represents a gorgeous illustration of my favorite type of girl, and the type of female vocalists that I seem to be drawn to in music as well. (a cute, quirky and gorgeous blonde with eye's of gentle wonder and innocence) And I like the mysterious factor that the picture draws upon..who is she? Is she real? Is she a singer, or just a model? It inspires curiousity and sensuality at the same time.

They are, especially Walter's (one on the left) He has an amazing voice and he even plays guitar. As a duo, coming from a Latvian band "Putnu Balle" their one and only international (In English) album "The war is not over" released in 2005, is one of my top favorite albums of all time. I just think it's an incredible album! Dreamy acoustic pop with sophisticated instrumentation and insanely catchy melodies at it's finest! And such a golden attention to detail, in every track. Here's a great track from the album "The war is not over" called Welcomed home. Their single is also excellent, called The war is not over, which was represented in Eurovision 2005 for their home country Latvia. I think that there is a lot of great talent in Latvia! Nice new avi, it's nice to see you in a better mood with brighter spirits. :-) Of course, I know..music will do that to you.

Me too. :-) And just having my music to listen to everyday. I surely never take anything for granted, so I can always appreciate what I have. I spent about 8 hours today fixing my Itunes library and uploading the extra few gigs of music that my Itunes library sync missed. And of course I encounterd all kinds of weird errors along the way, but at the end of the night, I got it all straitened out.
