Spinal Tap, beware. Your position as the World's Loudest Band has been usurped by a bunch of Scots. It's been more than 24 hours since Mogwai left the stage and their final barrage of noise still echoes through my skull. Seriously. Now I know why so many of my fellow concert-goers were sporting earplugs.

Probably more than a little behind the curve on this one, but rbally has some great quality mp3s of the Feist show I saw in January. They appear to from the WXRT broadcast, which would explain why at least three songs (Gatekeeper, Inside and Out, and a new one I don't know the name of) were cut for time. Not really surprised that those didn't make it since Feist bantered quite a bit before each of them, but I am just a little disappointed that my shout of "explicative!" during "Gatekeeper" never made it to air. Ah…

I wonder what became of the wandering bicyclist featured in "Sunworshipper" by Mylo. What happened in Eureka, California? What became of their quest for a new way of life? Did they, at the very least, manage to stop compulsively inhaling helium while talking to people with recording equipment?

Questions, questions, and no answers forthcoming. Sigh.

Friday's Stars show got off to a bit of a slow start. Save for Torquil Campbell, who was an engaging presence throughout, most of the band seemed to be either shaking off the effects of a long day on the tour bus or had apparently tipped back one too many beforehand. The guys to my left, thoroughly discouraged, took off after the first four or five songs. I wasn't about to follow their lead but I was feeling a bit disappointed, especially since they've become one of my favorite bands.

Just gave a few listens to "Gold Lion," the new single from Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Am I the only one hearing a slightly rearranged "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz? You can stream it from the News section of their website and judge for yourself. As for me, my anticipation for their new album has ebbed somewhat.

What a great show! Feist and her band were in top form, despite her professed nervousness (the sole manifestation of which came early during an abortive first stab at Gatekeeper, whereupon she explained that WXRT had neglected to inform her until an hour beforehand that she was to be taped for their Sunday Night Concert series) and put on a performance that managed to best their excellent set supporting Broken Social Scene at Metro last October. Speaking of everyone's favorite Canadian collective, one of the night's many highlights included a spirited cover of the Fast version of Major Label Debut.…
