Alas!! The accents have caught you out. Now your Italian shall perish; no more operas for you!!

I must say for an AS piece this is incredibly well thought out; I didn't write that many metric shifts in my AS piece and I still managed to get an A. But I can definitely see the exposition and the recapitulation. I have however been encouraged to incorporate a style that is simple and resolves well. Which doesn't come naturally to me but it's what the examiners want with their big check list of things they're looking for; the containment rule is to prevent teachers or other people writing the compositions for them (again though it doesn't really stop them) so they know the creativity came from you. Haha, I ended my piece in C Major for no explained reason as well, it was in A Flat Major and for no good reason I removed all accidentals when reaching the tonic of C and it sounded much more resolved. I'd show you the piece but only the examiners have it, and the sonata I'm working on is hideously incomplete so it'll seem a bit out of place.

Sadly the video player on my computer is incredibly slow and unresponsive so I only saw the first 30 seconds; but it was a rather interesting and mesmerising array of polygons. Aah the music, well you see the syllabus changed last year, now all composing must be done within 20 hours; all hours are supervised and monitored and you're not allowed to work on it outside of the classroom and you're not allowed to bring anything into the classroom in with you. It's meant to be spontaneous but no one actually does that so I've been told to work on it outside and just not tell anyone (and I doubt the examining board will monitor my conversations on lastfm.) The rondo will probably be done in a few weeks; I'm really bad at resolving pieces as I've never liked cadences but it'll end of it's own accord eventually. It's in sonata form? I'll have to remember that the next time I look at it. Strict sonata form or were there harmonic differences? Or did you rip sonata form apart 20th century style?

Oops, sorry. I guess i was trying to give all of the attention to the dash piece as my big new thing, and i forgot to ever mention anything about those other ones when i uploaded them. But here's something else too: http://matthollandmusic.blogspot.com/2009/11/such.html. It's basically the sequel to 'dash' but it's much more minimalistic and less likely to be liked by people.

ha ha ha aren't run-ons great? I was never too great with structured poetry, except for writing a stream of consciousness. I will check them out online. I appreciate the suggestion.

They don't have any songs to listen available. Do you know the Russian to English translation. I am one of those bafoon Americans that was too lazy to learn other languages because I was lazy and didn't think it was important as a kid and now I regret it so much because all I care about is speaking other languages because I have so many friends around the world and it makes me sick to my stomach because my friend Quendus sends me music to listen to and I don't get to listen to it but I appreciate it so much and now I really want to hear the music and they have no full tracks and not even a preview and all I ever see is annadoll2001 leaving shouts to all my friends and she is my friend too and very witty and I think she is great.

Nah, I quite like Bryson... albeit guiltily. It's by Tony Hawks, who is on Radio 4 a lot. It's just... meh. I hesitate to say 'meh', at my age, but 'meh' it is. I love starting projects, but I am terrible at finishing them. I think that is what comes of demonstrating lots of things for 10 minutes and then not finishing them all day.

I'm even worse with books, I read 1/2 a book and then my dear other half hides it... e.g. tidies it away into a bureau, shelf or sideboard so that my crap doesn't take over the house. I am halfway through a BIlly Childish book (so-so) and some book some dullard has written about taking a fridge round Ireland. I'm glad I didn't by the latter tbh. And finishing art... I am halways through doing a self-portrait and drawing a barn in fineliner. maybe I should combine the two? Fit a chimney or something...

Oh, it's a terrible business, everything I hear, I want. I'm very avaricious. It's getting so silly that I keep finding things I haven't even played. Cellophane still on. I keep getting home and the door is blocked with parcels, like Christmas... but no horrible jumpers with reindeer on them. I have stupid piles of CD all over the house, in my car... Thanks for the link!

I don't really do thieving, I just like to hear a couple of things and then I buy it. I am making up for time when I was a poor student with 20 CD's and a box of tapes...
