just listened to Marina & the Diamonds's preview of one of her songs "Starring Role". I don't know, I actually felt like listening to it again when I was finished, but somehow I miss the old-school pop feel in the songs released so far. Excluding Radioactive, which is supposed to embody nothing Marina actually stands for, just from the music, the songs appear so ... electro-ish. I like it at some point, but to be honest, there are so many artists that are just like this. I loved how on The Family Jewels the sound appeared so original and ... old-school. I don't know, I just hope she will manage to impress me with her new album, I actually always considered her as one of my favorites, it would be sad to put her down from that list.

15 Oct 2011, 16:08I went to an Agnes Obel concert yesterday - Agnes Obel, do you remember her? That wonderful singer songwriter whose song was played in a commercial of the German brand "T-Home", the one with the blossompieces falling from the sky.
I have to say, the concert was a blast. it was part of the New Fall Festival and the atmosphere in this hall was astonishing. Her voice and her appearance create such a wonderful atmosphere and song by song, Agnes Obel and her wonderful duet partner, a woman playing the Cello, were working off the list with my favorite songs, mixing some splendid new songs in them.
While the concert, I suddenly noticed the meaning of her song "Just So" and felt so close to the artist, The way she introducted new songs and told us what they were about, it just felt so ... well, lovely.
In the end, she came back out again. She was about to play a very last song and I got so excited, and to all my luck she played a piano version of "Brother Sparrow". And I am not even kidding, it was the most beautiful piano version of a guitar song I've probably ever heard.
Agnes Obel is just ... wow.
