day 01 - your favorite song
Well, it's a really hard question, because it changes all the time. But if I have to pick up exactly one song, I think, it must be Madonna's Bad Girl. Such great memories from my childhood, when I watched this brilliant video million times a day! :-) I know, this song can be far from being perfect, but I also know that there is no song I love more than Bad Girl.
(PS. Though the first thought was about Zombie, I eventually changed my mind.)

day 02 - your least favorite song
Hm, I used to have a tag "hate this song", but about a week ago I decided to delete it, because.. just don't know :-) And about the question - my all-time most hated song is Umbrella by Rihanna. Really annoying, and the singer's vocals sound like she is sick and going to barf X_X

day 03 - a song that makes you happy
Ohh, there are many songs that make me happy, but the most working one is Lady Gaga's Bad Romance :D
And I think I must mention P!nk's Stupid Girls because of its great video which makes me laugh even after a million times I've watched it.

day 04 - a song that makes you sad
Definitely, You Look So Fine by Garbage. For me it's the saddest song ever written. The ending, "let's pretend happy end" just breaks my heart into many little pieces

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone
Mmm, Kelly Clarkson's Addicted reminds me of my past "love-to-death-i-will-never-be-happy-i-want-to-kill-myself-im-so-stupid-nobody-loves-me-ill-die-alone-and-blah-blah-blah" depression and the girl who made me feel this way. Even though now I realize how silly it was, I still don't want to listen to this song :D

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere
In Saint-Petersburg there is a hotel named "Emerald", so every time I pass it by, I start singing Emerald Island by Leaves' Eyes. I'm a bad singer, so a person walking with me is immediately filled with desire to kill me :D So, this track reminds me of that place :-)

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event
Within Temptation - What Have You Done reminds me of my trip to Moscow to my friends from Evanescence message board :-) We sang this song for the whole day, it was crazy :D It went on sounding in my head on my way back home, and I don't know how didn't I get sick of it eventually %)

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to
Actually, any Evanescence song :D I started to listen to music with them, so I used to be their biggest fan in the world. I learnt by heart and translated into Russian all their lyrics, and still haven't forgotten the words :-)

day 09 - a song that you can dance to
Depeche Mode - World in My Eyes. In my Theatre Studio there are choreographic lessons, and we learned a dance to this song. There is no other song, listening to which I got so many bruises :D

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep
Oh, I have just woken up after only 3 hours of sleeping, so any song makes me fall asleep right now :D But if seriously... Dido's Northern Skies is the best lullaby ever! 8 minutes of monotonous, yet so beautiful melody with cloudy arrangements and mellow vocals. One of the best Dido's songs.

day 11 - a song from your favorite band
I generally try to avoid using the expression "favourite band", because my favourite band changes all the time, but in contradistinction to favourite song I can't make once-and-forever choice. Well, if to take the recent time, I re-fell in love with Within Temptation (I overlistened them long ago, but now I feel for them again). To pick a song... I'll take Iron, because this song stopped me from cutting my hair - I'm preparing to headbang on December 12th ;-)

day 12 - a song from a band you hate
Well, I've spent a half of my lifetime hating Linkin Park. And though now I feel ok to them, I think they deserve to be in this journal :-D And the song is... hm... well, let it be In the End, it has amazing intro and, I guest, it's their best song.

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure
I Kissed a Girl is totally awesome! I don't really like Katy Perry (ok, ok, I don't like her at all) because for me it's a commercial pop music at its worst... But this single track is so amazing, I can't help to listen to it :-)

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love
I don't know why, but people get really surprized when they hear I'm in love with Aqua, which sang about Barbie Girl in the 90's :-) Looking forward to their next album (the first one in 11 years!), they're so positive and happy, love them! :-)

day 15 - a song that describes you
I can feel So Unsexy for someone so beautiful
So unloved for someone so fine
I can feel so boring for someone so interesting
So ignorant for someone of sound mind
(c) Alanis Morissette

day 16 - a song that you used to love but now hate
Hm, kind of a really difficult question... It happens sometimes that I stop loving a song, but total turn from love to hate... I need to think about it :D *10 minutes later* Wow, I managed to find two examples! First. When Tarja's My Winter Storm came out, I was very impressed, especially with Poison. Really, now I can't even listen to this s....... ong from beginning to end. And, of course, can't understand how could I enjoy it. Second. Lonely used to be my favourite track from After Forever's self-titled album. Until I read the lyrics... nuff said %) :D

day 17 - a song that you hear often on the radio
Haven't listened to the radio for a few years, so can't answer this question :D Back in 2005 I listened to the radio a lot to catch Avril Lavigne's Nobody's Home, and I can't say it was hard - this song was aired pretty often :-) Still can't believe that today I'm gonna hear it live ;-)

day 18 - a song that you wish you heard on the radio
I don't care about radio, so I'll tell about a song I was extremely lucky to hear on the radio :-) Once (not long ago, within 5 months, I think) I was sitting in a cafe with my friends. Radio was on, but I didn't pay it any attention. Until I heard something extremely beautiful. I clearly recognized Madonna, but not the song. That day, when I came home, I made some research and found out that this song M released for the soundtrack to the movie starring her, The Next Best Thing. I didn't even know that such a song existed, and I don't know how could it get to the radio, it wasn't released even as a promo single! Anyway, now it's one of my favourite Madonna's songs, Time Stood Still :-)

day 19 - a song from your favorite album
My favourite album is still Here's to the Mourning, my favourite song off it is still Lost Control :-)

PS. Iris, we wrote so many comments, and they don't fit one page.. need to click "See all <..> comments" to see the newer ones... I firstly thought that last.fm eats my comments :D Thank you for following my with this flash-mob! :-)

day 20 - a song that you listen to when you’re angry
Definitely, Nightwish's Master Passion Greed. Hmm, the last scrobble was on 19th January... I wasn't angry for a really long time :-)

day 21 - a song that you listen to when you’re happy
Hmmm, this question is harder than previous, cause I don't have a certain song for happiness :-) Let it be Two Dreamers by Lunatica, the happiest sympho-metal song ever :-)

day 22 - a song that you listen to when you’re sad
Questions are getting harder :D Well, first of all, sadness is different. Like... Heart is broken = one sadness, nose is broken = another one :-) So, I will listen to different songs as a result of different causes of sadness %) Well, taking the most primitive reason: teenage love problems make me listen (along with You Look So Fine from day 4) to Tristania's Equilibrium. Damn, both YLSF and Equilibrium are in my top-5 plays... seems like I've got a kind of a problem :D

day 23 - a song that you want to play at your wedding
Felix Mendelssohn's Wedding March, please :D

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral
Frédéric Chopin's Funeral March, please :D Yes, I know that I'm totally not original in those latest two questions, but I'm conservative about such things.

day 25 - a song that makes you laugh
Nightwish's Bare Grace Misery starts with words "Sweet boy, come in". It sounds totally like "slepoy kamin", which in russian means "blind fireplace"... really stupid reason to laugh, but I just can't help :D Also NW's Nymphomaniac Fantasia makes me laugh because of a little perfect fanfiction about this song. It's written in russian, and I'll try to translate it, but not sure that I can.

day 26 - a song that you can play on an instrument
Such songs I tag specially :-) Though I'm still a bad unexperienced guitar player, so most of the songs are played just by strumming chords up and down :D Also when I was a child, my mom taught me to play piano, and when in more conscious life I had a synth (very short time), I learnt play intros of Nightwish's Ever Dream and While Your Lips Are Still Red (their best song imo, btw). Those pieces I still can play :-) And there are also My Immortal and Say My Name, which I could play, but now have forgotten..

day 27 - a song that you wish you could play
Oh, there are lots of them! So, only the main wishes. For guitar, Guano Apes' Fire in Your Eyes, probably the best song of 2011 for me. I love the melody, the lyrics, I love everything in this song, and I wish I could accompany myself. But I don't have enough skills to pick up tabs (though they seem to be very simple. anyway, I tried, but unsuccessfully), and can't find them in the web. And for keys, Nightwish's The Pharaoh Sails To Orion piano part always seemed insanely amazing to me, so I really wish I could play it :-)
PS. Actually, I wish I could play on an instrument well, so I could play any song :D

day 28 - a song that makes you feel guilty
It's a really strange question. I don't know what to answer, because songs don't make me feel guilty o_0 People do, but songs don't. But there is one certain song that stops me from feeling guilty. Well. There are many bad things happened in my life that I caused and that I'm ashamed of. But for most of them no-one can punish me more than I do. Really, even people who suffered from me forget about it, but I don't. I swear, I understood my guilt, I will never do that again, so why not to let it go? But I simply... can't. I just HATE myself for what I've done. I hate myself, because I let this happen. No matter how, no matter why, no matter years passed by. It doesn't even matter that in some cases no-one will ever remember it (if they do, they will just laugh and forget again). It doesn't even matter that sometimes it meant NOTHING for anyone. Actually, it even doesn't always mean that I was guilty. Anyway, I just spend sleepless nights analysing it all (even if there's nothing left to analyse) and trying to understand how could I let this happen (even if everything is already understood). And this feeling just consumes me.
But there is one certain song that I always recall when it all goes too bad (damn, why it was released too late, just in 2009? It could really help me many times before). This song is Twisted Coil by Guilt Machine.
"Shut down the guilt machine and wash your conscience clean of yesterday..."
Simple, but brilliant. And so damn true.

PS. That's funny how the most strange question turned into the most personal.

day 29 - a song from your childhood
There are many good songs that I remember from my childhood. But I would like to mention one particular song. It is Summer Son by Texas. The reason why I chose it is very weird. I used to consider it as the first song I heard and kept in mind in my conscious life, because I clearly remember watching its video on TV in my family's first apartment. But there is a little problem: we moved from that flat in 1997, and the song was released only in 1999. So I don't know what to think :D Mind sometimes plays strange tricks on me. By the way, those days I didn't know how sexy the song and video were :-) And always wondered, isn't it too hot (I mean high temperature) for an actor which was dressed in a suit with many bulbs :D

day 30 - your favorite song at this time last year
Thank last.fm, I can watch that on 18th of September 2010 i listened to Brand New Day by Ryan Star 9 times in a row, and I think that day it was my favourite song. It was the main theme for TV series Lie To Me. The chorus is sooooo beautiful!

Well, I think I've completed the challenge! :-) I really liked this idea of a daily meme, so I think I'll figure out something new.

Sounds like a challenge indeed :-D I'm curious what your answers will be so I'll try to follow you daily. I already agree with you on day 2: that really is a horrible song, with the "ella, ella, ella" so annoying. I actually don't know the song of day 1... I probably should have heard it once, but the title doesn't ring a bell... Zombie is very good!!! I have no idea what my number 1 would be, probably a Tori Amos song, maybe Crucify.

  • MustBeDreaming1

thanx :-) haha, yes, i sing this "ella-ella-ella" part when i want to express that i dislike something very very much :D watch Bad Girl music video on youtube, there is a link in the post, it's one of the greatest videos ever, i think... David Fincher directed it, btw :-) Crucify is a great choice! love it more and more every time i listen to it..

I've seen the video, it is great, really telling a story. Kind of creepy though... :-\ I'm surprised I've never seen it before. I think I knew the song, but not very well. I have more memories of other songs of her, like Frozen, Papa don't Preach, Like a Prayer, Take a Bow, Don't Cry for Me Argentina. :-) I can imagine that Bad Romance makes you happy!!! And although I don't really like P!nk, the Stupid Girls video is just great, very funny indeed!

  • MustBeDreaming1

wow! what a timing! when i clicked the link of this post, there were two comments, and now there are three! :-) i know that Bad Girl failed to chart in... well, everywhere, but it became surprisingly popular in Russia. from that times i also remember Rain, Secret, Take a Bow and LA ISLA BONITA (!!! HEAVY airplay), Like a Virgin... my aunt also had cassettes of Madonna: Erotica, Like a Prayer and Bedtime Stories, which is my favourite album of her since that pleasant childhood times :-) Bad Romance is also one of the first songs i've learnt to play on a guitar, and to sing it is even more happy than to listen :D

    23 Ago 2011, 20:28
  • irisvanhoorn

Great to hear you play the guitar! I can imagine that it's fun to play Bad Romance :-) Thinking of a song that makes me happy... first that comes to my mind is "It's Raining Men" van The Weather Girls, hahaha. I also have a plastic sunflower which plays "I'm Walking On Sunshine" when you push the button (very funny gift from friends in a funny mood :-P). I don't think they are very good songs, but they do make me happy :-) The songs of day 4 and 5 I don't know... Up to now most songs you mentioned are pop songs (except for Garbage, ok). I'm wondering when you will mention a more metal song.

    25 Ago 2011, 5:09
  • MustBeDreaming1

ha-ha, it's the case when "i play" doesn't mean "i CAN play" at all :D ha-ha, It's Raining Man is really funny :D and i don't really like Walking On Sunshine, but think that this flower really boosts mood up :D Garbage's song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kvXfNoTjsY this video version is very shortened, the album one has amazing instrumental outro. and i'm not really impressed with the video itself. Kelly's song" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1PB2_vR8qw (no music video, just a fan'made slideshow). i used to like it A LOT, but now, as i mentioned, i don't really wanna listen to it. yes, i noticed too that all those songs are poppish (and Garbage's one too :D), but i can't explain it... i think, Emerald Island is metal enough :-) btw, i remembered too late about this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rymKUPNltQ the happiest metal song ever, it should've been there instead of Bad Romance :-) btw, one more funny thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF1b1pf9DRY it's a fictional music video, created for tv series "How I met your mother" - the story behind it is how easy it was to become a teen pop star in Canada in early 90's (kind of a flashback of the main character) - i couldn't stop thinking about pre-early Alanis watching it :-)

    25 Ago 2011, 20:53
  • irisvanhoorn

Thanks for all the video links! I really liked You Look So Fine of Garbage, beautiful song, bit sad indeed. I haven't listened to them for a long time, should do that some day. I always liked I'm Only Happy When It Rains :-) which is kind of ironic if you live in the Netherlands (it's raining here like ALL the time...) :-D I don't like Kelly Clarkson a lot... I don't know why, she just doesn't impress me that much. Same applies to this song, sorry. Your first metal song!!! I've never liked Leaves Eyes that much, I must say. Music is okay, but I don't really like her voice. Same applies to the Lunatica song Two Dreamers. It's a great song, but should have been done by another singer in my opinion. The song reminds me of another song called "The Gathering" by Delain, also a kind of happy metal song in my opinion (it's about a card game so... :-D). The "How I Met Your Mother" video is funny and reminds a bit of early Alanis indeed, with the dancing and the hair. :-D Though I don't really like the television series, do you? Looking forward to day 7 :-) Good luck!

    26 Ago 2011, 4:46
  • MustBeDreaming1

oh, yes, in Saint-Petersburg OHWIR is ironic too.. it's raining here all the time, when not snowing :D i'm glad you liked my favourite Garbage song :-) i think, Kelly is too generic, that's the reason i almost stopped listening to her. no, in her 3rd album My December she tried to do something special (leaving her producers), and she eventually did it.. but the result is totally unlistenable for me. ha-ha, same thing about Liv Kristine, i think she is a very overrated, untalented singer who CAN'T sing at all. though in electronic ToT albums her voice just fitted well, and since LE's Njord her performance is okay (yes, it took 15 years on the stage to learn to sing). i'm a huge fan of Lunatica and though Andrea is not the greatest singer in the world, i somehow love what she's doing. yes, The Gathering by Delain is great, one of my favourite songs by them :-) i don't REALLY like tv series too, but sometimes just need to watch something like this, so i'm a fan of HIMYM, The Big Bang Theory and first three seasons of Lost :D

    26 Ago 2011, 9:42
  • irisvanhoorn

Ah, sorry I meant I don't like the tv series HIMYM, not tv series in general. :-) Actually I was quite addicted to Grey's Anatomy, especially first 3 seasons were great in my opinion. And I have all seasons of all Star Trek series (+ the movies...) on DVD. Yes... I am kind of a geek I think, haha. :-$ I also like The Big Bang Theory, really funny! About day 7: really great song! I used to sing it out loud while riding the bike after I broke up with my ex-boyfriend. :-D And about day 8: I used to know all the words of some Evanescence songs too, but that was back in 2004, so already 7 years ago (pff... time flies ;-) ) I still think the songs are very good, but a little bit too depressive for my taste at the time. Maybe when I am in the mood.

    27 Ago 2011, 13:00
  • MustBeDreaming1

aah :-) no, i watched 136 episodes of HIMYM in less then 2 months! it never happened to me before, so i think i can say that i'm a fan of it :D didn't watch neither Star Track, nor Grey's Anatomy, so can't say anything about them :-) i think that when the new study-year begins, i will watch Friends every morning during breakfast (if HIMYM is called 2nd Friends... it's time to meet origins) :-) ha-ha, being sung aloud is this song's destiny, i think :D my first CD ever was Fallen in 2005 (damn! time really flies!), so... :-) i still like them too, but now i don't think they make the best music ever :D btw, their lyrics are still great, imo. not so many alternative bands write lyrics which can be compared to Evanescence's...

    27 Ago 2011, 19:57
  • irisvanhoorn

Hey! A song of Dido I don't know :-) I only have the first 2 albums of her. I'll see if I can find it, just in case I cannot sleep :-P You're right about the Evanescence lyrics, they are great, depressive, but great! Especially Everybody's Fool, I really loved that song and the video, so much emotion. Imaginary is also great.

    29 Ago 2011, 18:22
  • MustBeDreaming1

Northern Skies is from her latest album Safe Trip Home. it's generally more (EVEN more!) acoustic and melancholic than first two ones. i like the entire cd, but there are only 2 tracks i can pick up: this one and Grafton Street. yesss, Everybody's Fool has amazing lyrics! i also really like Where Will You Go, Imaginary too and Whisper ones. and, of course, Understanding - one of their first songs and totally the best for me in all aspects. btw, do you have their pre-Fallen material? it's no longer available, so the band let the free download: http://evanescencereference.info/

    29 Ago 2011, 19:29
  • irisvanhoorn

Thanks for the link! Really great that it is here altogether free to download. I only have the albums Fallen and Open Door, especially Fallen I listened to a lot in the past. I listened to Anywhere but Home but I didn't like it that much. The songs are good, but it was badly mixed imo.

    29 Ago 2011, 20:25
  • MustBeDreaming1

not at all ;-) for me Fallen will always remain their best... then Origin, then EP's-era, then The Open Door :-) Anywhere But Home is badly sung, imo: such a shame Amy prefers jumping like a goat on stage instead of good singing...

    30 Ago 2011, 10:20
  • irisvanhoorn

Maybe you're right and it is just badly sung instead of badly mixed :-) I don't know much songs of Linkin Park, but I think "In the End" is a great song, very compelling. I wouldn't have guessed you hated this band. WT is a great choice for favourite band :-) Are you already counting down the days? (I kind of do that for the Tori concert on the 17th of October :-) ) I don't know the song... is that a song of their latest album?

    31 Ago 2011, 15:25
  • MustBeDreaming1

i'm totally sure in it, their other concerts aren't any better... it's a bit complicated story about LP. at first i liked them, but then (with Meteora and Numb) they gained HUGE popularity in Russia. it really turned into idolatry from everyone, and i thought it's not right, and somehow it happened that my love to LP turned int hate. though now i realize that i hated not them but people's attitude to them. i thought (and still think) they don't deserve it. but now the time returned everything to its place: LP turned into experiments and most of the fans turned away from them. so now i feel ok for them :-) i'm counting days down for Avril Lavigne's concert on September 5th :-) and then i'll start waiting for WT's one ;-) yes, Iron is from The Unforgiving... maybe their most energizing song ever :D glad you will go to the Tori's concert :-) i hope there will be a note about it ;-)

    31 Ago 2011, 21:37
  • irisvanhoorn

Good to know, then I don't have to go to see them live if they ever come to the Netherlands again. :-) Funny that some bands can have such popularity in one country while it's really not like that in another country. In the Netherlands they had a hit with "In the End" and a few other songs that were played on the radio around 2002 - 2005, but it was never 'huge popularity' or anything close to that, at least not that I can remember :-) But I can imagine your feelings about them. It's good that they returned to their experimental side I think, I prefer that above commercialism. Ah of course, Avril Lavigne, only 4 days to go!!! Have a nice evening! And for WT's concert: good luck with the hair-banging! :-D btw: is that really you on the picture? If so I don't know if you can manage to get really long hair before the 12th of December? ;-) I will write a journal about the Tori concert for sure. But first I'll go to The Gathering the 16th of September. It's not that I'm not looking forward to that (of course I do!) but it's the 2nd time I will see them this year (yes I'm spoiled living in the Netherlands, I know :-D ) so I'm a little bit more looking forward to Tori. Also her new album will be released on the 23rd!! Funny song for a guilty pleasure :-) I also don't like Katy Perry, but this song is funny indeed.

who knows, maybe in this tour she will realize that singing good is better than demonstrating her acrobatic skills... yes... and i'd really like to know the principle, according to which it is distributed, in which country a band will be more popular than in others... :-) i didn't listen to LP's experiments, but can't say i'm interested in it, there is a lot of other music to listen ;-) yes, already soon!! :-) thanx! :-) yes, it's me tho months ago. now i have hair that i have to comb back, to have clear view :-) more recent pic: http://cs10772.vk.com/u292899/122253329/z_89098512.jpg it's extremely stupid, but gives more actual information :D i don't think they will grow really long till december, but longer than i ever had, anyway :-) ha-ha, yes, you live in one of those countries, in which the greatest music is created :-) only 2 weeks to TG and only a month and a half to Tori, that's really great! have lots of fun!! :-) btw, i think, TG will perform some new songs too? at least, Heroes for Ghosts... :-)

    1 Sep 2011, 18:04
  • irisvanhoorn

Kind of strange, funny picture indeed haha, but Spongebob is cool!!! :-D At least you will have some hair for hair-banging in December :-) I think a lot of people want to know the popularity-principle. You can make a lot of money if you figure that out ;-) Last time I went (on 27th of May) The Gathering did 2 new songs, Heroes for Ghosts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTF8Nc8bpKU&hd=1 and another new song, called "Rusty Hands" (at least according to YouTube): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzEoRn

we tried to reconstruct Spongebob and Patrick's poses :D yes, i hope so, thanx :-) oh, yeah... didn't think about it o_0 Heroes for Ghosts is totally great, i like it very much since it was released! i can't watch youtube videos right now, i'll do it in evening, and write about my feelings :-) thanx for links! very curious about Rusty Hands! :-)

oh, i totally liked Rusty Hands!! this all-you-ar'ish feeling... :-) the new album is going to be greeeeat!!!

  • irisvanhoorn

Great to hear you like it! I am also looking forward to the new album, I think it will be very atmospheric, like Heroes for Ghosts and Rusty Hands and some of the The West Pole songs. So it's going to be great indeed :-) Nice to see you like Barbie Girl!!! :-D I have a lot of good memories about this song as well! I also really liked the video, very funny! I remember that Matel (the Barbie company) was very against this song as it was describing Barbie in a wrong way according to them. They tried to stop it, but failed :-) But what I don't understand.... I was 14 when this song was released, so you were 4 (if I'm correct)... Did you already listened to pop music at that age? Cause it was a song with very short popularity, at least in Holland. After about 4 years no one was hearing anything from Aqua anymore. Nice to hear they're coming back together tough, curious to see what kind of funny things they will come up with this time :-) And So Unsexy is a great song, but I hope you don't feel like that all the time...

    4 Sep 2011, 7:45
  • MustBeDreaming1

ha-ha, funny thing with company against Barbie Girl :D no, there were many Aqua singles that were popular in Russia at that time... Barbie Girl, Turn Back Time, Dr Jones, Roses Are Red, My Oh My, Lollipop (hm, actually, all the singles from the debut album) and Cartoon Heroes with Around The World later :-) at least, i remember all those videos from that time :-) and yes, i was in my pre-school years when it started, then i liked watching music channels on tv :-) btw, somewhere around this time i became obsessed with charts, i watched top-20 every week and even made notes with list of the songs. and i didn't speak english then, of course, so i wrote english song names in russian transcription... always incorrect :D for example, i clearly remember how J-Lo's Waiting For Tonight became something like "firi fotju naj" :D brrrr, such stupid, but funny and enjoyable memories :-) did you hear Aqua's new songs from their 2009's Greatest Hits album? Back To The 80's is a typical perfect humorous happy Aqua song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUbxFeqRZwI and My Mamma Said, more a ballad, my new favourite of them, love it even more than Turn Back Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pmG4W0e1Vs there are two more new songs were released, but i'm not really impressed. now waiting for Megalomania, their next album... :-) not all the time, of course :D but pretty often. a bit of irony about myself :-)

Haha yes, and even more funny that Aqua won :-D The other singles of the debut album were also famous in the Netherlands for a short time, but after that they kind of faded away. It's funny that you were already watching pop music at such a young age. I can't remember any song back from 1987! But I wasn't allowed to watch the music channels on tv at that time (by my parents). If there were any music channels on Dutch tv at that time already... :-) So it was only Sesame street and children songs for me! :-D I must say I don't like the new Aqua songs that much. Barbie Girl was great and Dr. Jones ok, but after that... It's like they are doing the same trick all the time and her voice becomes a bit annoying for me. So I keep it with the good memories. I must say I still like Tarja's Poison... although I like the original version of Alice Cooper better: crazy 80's metal guy with long hair :-D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qU2nCgQGVo I don't think I know Lonely of After Forever or Nobody's Home of Avril Lavigne... Great that you're going to see Avril Lavigne live TODAY!!! In only a few hours I think! Have a very very nice evening!!! One song I remembered hearing a lot on the radio is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDFTlw3BfTM I don't think it became famous anywhere outside the Netherlands, but it was the most-played song on Dutch national radio in 2007. During that year I did my internship at the University, working a lot of days on the lab (I am a laboratory technician), while listening to the radio. And the chorus of this song is very very contagious, it keeps playing in your head all the time :-)
