Enter Shikari - Halloween 2008

Fri 31 Oct – Enter Shikari, Maximum the Hormone, An Albatross, DJ Pdex
What a night. Seriously. Enter Shikari kicked some serious arse, yet I must admit, it didn't seem like they were on stage for very long to be perfectly honest. Maybe it's just me? But they pleased me and most others anyway!

Now, I was pretty intoxicated by the time the gig started. My girlfriend, some friends and I were stumbling around the streets of Folkestone, finally ending up in McDonalds eating dinner before realising it was 6:50pm and we had only 10 minutes to stumble to the Leas before the gig got underway. Fun times.

As for the gig itself, it was pretty damn awesome. (By the way, If you saw me, I was the guy with the long spiked hair at the back and the black-skeleton hoodie. I had quite a few people comment on them both, lol.)

Anyway, the supports weren't all that bad, although I didn't really care all that much for An Albatross (although they did play I Am The Lazer Viking which was pretty good live), but Maximum the Hormone were pretty hardcore–the female drummer was egging the crowd on and the bassist was really going for it. I remember them playing Zetsubou Billy, but that's it, lol. I didn't catch the names of the other tracks. XD

The final support to open, DJ Pdex, really got the crowd going. I'm not really a fan of drum'n'bass music, but it seemed to get all us scene kids in the crowd moving, haha. XD

Then came Enter Shikari. They made an appearance on stage with masks on and removed them after their opening track. The whole crowd were getting involved with every track; it was pretty damn immense! I'm trying to remember back to the night, but I know for a fact that they played these tracks (if they played others, I apologise, but I forget, lol); No Sssweat, Enter Shikari, Labyrinth, Return to Energiser, We Can Breathe in Space, They Just Don't Want Us to Escape, Kickin' Back On The Surface of Your Cheek, The Feast, OK, Time for Plan B, Sorry, You're Not a Winner and they brought the night to a close with an outro. They also played a few new tracks.

Some things that pissed me off, the first being when Chris stated that their final song was going to be "OK, Time for Plan B", then decided he had made a mistake and that it wasn't actually on the set list for that night. Lucky for us, they played it later on that night. I think they played 4 songs more than they were supposed to actually. XD I am disappointed that Acid Nation, Jonny Sniper, Adieu and Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour... weren't played, but still, at least they played Mothership, which made my night!
