religion talks with an angsty teen.

yes.

Sweet Religion is quite a lovely song.

typical of imogen heap, this song is cool and composed, a sardonically twisted view into a not-so-pious way of looking at religion.

this song is asking "will you be there when i need you?"

asking if there will be the help of God when poor little imogen is down or in trouble.

similarly, Oh Me, Oh My also has very interesting ties and references to religion.

she says
"

Oh God
Are you there
Are you there
Are you there
No, yeah
"

this shows how she is wondering if she will have the support that she needs from God when she needs it.

<3 imogen.

also, she does it again in Angry Angel when she says

"

But that's just his cover
From what is under it
All his imagination, his
Passion for a creation
Which he has discovered,
Uncovered a world, of
Amazing sensations
His own little nation
"

one can assume that Him and His is God, although nothing in a song can show if she says Him or him.

again, in Whatever,
she says

Youre so far away, yeah
Why are you so far away
From me

where one could assume you is in fact You, and is again a reference to religion.

now, all of these songs are on her first cd, but if you look at her second CD, one does not see these ties to religion. true, the second cd has many hits such as
Hide and Seek
Just For Now
and Goodnight and Go
and makes references to adultery, cheating, hatred, and suicide,
but it does not have the religious implications of the first (I Megaphone).

oh well. i love imogen.
