Opinion on new Sigh album? Opinion on the NeO EPs?

Yeah, discovering the actual playlist can be quite difficult, especially with lesser known bands. And probably even for well-known bands; at least, from my experience. I can often recognize the songs that are being played, but not always link it to a song title (it's hard for my brain to link those things unless the song is particularly interesting to me). Unrelated: I just decided to register at Metal Storm and added my Winamp library. It seems like a decent site to look around and find new artists on. :3

Yeah, I did notice that your list of "interested in" is quite large. However, I always assumed that your actual concert visiting habits were properly represented by that little graph you have that reads how many concerts you visited each year. Also, I noticed you keep playlists of live performances (why is that?).

Maybe, maybe. The trip to Czech Rep. would probably be more expensive than all the rest combined. Also, I'd hesitate to take such a bus. When I went to Prague last summer, we went by train, and that took like 10 hours total. I used to get carsick as a child and I still can if the trip is really long. Who knows though, maybe some time I'll come to a Czech festival and we could finally meet up =P. Also, completely unrelated, I just found out (through a funny FB post) that your birthday was the other way. Happy belated Birthday to you~

That makes a lot of sense. The Netherlands is located next to the sea so it is less likely to be a good intermediate touring stop. We have one of the biggest airports in Europe located in Amsterdam, so that's a thing, but that's probably it. Also, I'm aware of this basic economy property. I don't mind it because it means for me everything will be very cheap when I go to Czech Rep. :D Unfortunately it would be very expensive for you to come here. Also, I've been wanting to go to some festival for a while now, partially because of the reason you provided, and partially because I want to experience how it's like to be in a massive field full of tents and happy atmosphere and music and all that stuff. However, I'm not aware of any small festivals. Maybe I should do some research ;)

Tickets in general aren't that cheap here. One additional benefit you may have is that you live in the capital city already, so you wouldn't have to travel very far. There is only one concert I've been to, FortaRock last year. It is held annually in my city, literally around the corner from my dorm room. Sadly, tickets are about €80 and I cannot afford. I'd have loved to see bands like Dummy Burger, Trivium and Iron Maiden (!!!) live, but I'm gonna have to settle for hearing a load of noise from my room. - Not drinking can make a significant difference. I rarely drink, myself, but depending on what you drink it can be cheap or not. When I was in Prague I was pleasantly surprised by how cheap everything was (not just beer). If you were talking about drinking at festivals: well, screw that. It's too expensive and doesn't add anything. - I'd go to more concerts if I knew about them I guess, and if they were nearby enough and cheap enough.

Doesn't seem like it. Try just going back to previous pages and stuff. My browser tends to remember things I've written in case something weird happens.

That was an interesting description... have you been very close to them? (I think I remember you saying you always manage to get near the front.) Also I think I've listened to Now, Diabolical, and while it was fairly simple, I can't say it was bad; I just didn't really think it was very good. I'll give The Age of Nero a proper listen soon, then. I guess I'm generally a fan of complex music so I dunno how much I'll like it. PS: You see really a lot of stuff live, how can you afford?

Satyricon seems to score really high on your profile. I don't really understand. I've given some tracks a listen, but I really don't see the big appeal of it. They don't sound like a very interesting band to me. Am I missing out? D:

And not drinking is a reasonable benefit, yeah. I occasionally drink, but not at (very) expensive places, such as concerts. I don't really feel like drinking beer that is more water than anything else, and spend like €3 on it while elsewhere elsewhen I could get it for €1. I only began drinking at all since about a year ago anyway, and with good moderation. You should be proud for staying sober. I remember you saying stuff about that that may be a reason why you don't have a girlfriend, but honestly, if you had to drink to acquire one, then she's probably not the one anyway.

That's very interesting. I'm not sure how expensive festivals generally are over here, but I think most actual concerts and the like are more expensive (depending on if there are very big bands present). The ticket for Fortarock was €70 this year, and probably the same next year. Fortunately, I won't need to pay for travel, since the site is within walking distance from my dorm room. :D

I would almost always need to travel places to go to concerts, and I really don't have the money for those things. I wonder how you get the money to go to as many concerts and events as you do. The only thing I ever went to was Fortarock (which was totally worth it beause Rammstein). I do plan on going again next year though (because Iron Maiden). \m/

I suppose the artists I have with (relatively) many plays are also most likely to be the ones that I have on my HDD as well. I have expanded things a bit by going to the last.fm home page, looking at a band, listening a song, then deciding to download an album/discography. As of recently I've been using the Radio a lot (since it became available again) and that's also a great source of new music. In any case, I don't know which main genres apart from metal you're interested in, but I could primarily give you some electronic/ambient music and jazz.

That strange realization when you have over seven times as many plays, but almost five times as few artists in your library. How...
