Taylor Swift - Fearless (2008) Review
She's country musics brightest shining new star and she is now back with her sophomore album. Her debut album Taylor Swift was an enormous hit on both the country and mainstream charts. With songs such as Our Song, Tim McGraw, Teardrops On My Guitar, Picture To Burn and Should've Said No all becoming huge hits a new star had been born.
Taylor Swift is now back like i previously stated with a new album. This time the focus is moved towards the mainstream audience when the pop influences on this album are a lot more noticeable than the country ones. Her first single released via the Olympics was Change which had more of a pop-rock sound than previous releases. The follow up, and the albums lead single Love Story on the other hand has a strong pop sound. And this is kind of what defines the album, it's pop with country influences rather than the other way around.
So is that a bad thing?
No, in my opinion this album is better than her debut, which i loved. It's not a lot better, neither is this in any way a musical revolution. But it is somewhat of a mainstream revival for country music.
It gets a 4.2/5 rating from me.
