Thanks. I never supposed I will hear anything similar to Depressive Age but here is Mayfair. Not that thrashy - more psychedelic. I think you can check out Artch from Norway and their album Another Return. US-style power metal - may be compared to early Fates Warning or Vicious Rumors.

Excellent consistent prog metal taste. I've never heard of Mind Over Four and I am just checking it now.

That's a fascinating point. Psychopath and Anacrusis are both from St. Louis, MO USA, and though Anacrusis' Manic Impressions was released in May of '91 and Psychopath's Making The Transition was released in October of '91, Psychopath's M.T.T was actually recorded in August of '90, which predates it. Must be something in the water there in St. Louis! BTW, the Grimmer blog isn't mine, it belongs to this really cool guy that found the Psychopath 5-Song Advance which I have been looking for for years, literally. And what a find it was!

Hey this is Kara from UM, can I ask you why you like Fates Warning so much? I've been trying to get into their music the last couple of weeks or so but something isn't clicking for some reason. I've listened to both Awaken the Guardian and No Exit so far, I don't really like ATG but I'm still giving it a chance. However No Exit is growing on me much faster, I guess the big problem I'm having is that it feels like the sections with singing exceed the length of the instrumental sections. Like there's too much singing if you know what I mean. Could you rec me some albums or give me a different perspective of their music. Sorry for the TL;DR message btw.

Thanks for the recommendations! Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I've only just gotten round to checking them out - currently listening to Slogan, which is excellent so far. I'm trying to see whether I can recommend you anything in turn, but the only thing I can think of that isn't in your library is the Norwegian band Equinox (Labyrinth is a pretty interesting album). As for Spectral Incursion's 'Surgery', I'm actually learning it on the guitar - pretty fun to play. :D

^Rather misleading since no one tracks album plays by album plays rather than the total number of song plays from a given album, but oh well.
