I appear to have not written any other journal entries since a very similar one to this, exactly a year ago. Ah well, there are worse things, I'm sure. My tracks played counter always seems to lose a few hundred tracks here and there, but thanks to this nifty website - http://music.aves-reich.de/weekly.php I can report that I have scrobbled 23,201 plays. That's 11,836 in the past year, up slightly on my first year total of 11,365. I've also added a further nine posts to my previous tally of 32.
Allowing for a slight room for error given updates and whatnot, the top ten is as follows:
1. Muse - 4,001
2. The Cooper Temple Clause - 2,270
3. The Libertines - 1,870
4. Dirty Pretty Things - 1,010
5. Radiohead - 842
6. Belle and Sebastian - 837
7. Franz Ferdinand - 565
8. The Killers - 515
9. Maxïmo Park - 495
10. Patrick Wolf - 424
This makes for interesting reading in comparison to last year's top ten:
1. Muse - 2,764
2. The Libertines - 1,137
3. Dirty Pretty Things - 796
4. The Cooper Temple Clause - 519
5. Belle and Sebastian - 381
6. The Killers - 352
7. Maxïmo Park - 338
8. Yeti - 317
9. Franz Ferdinand - 285
10. Snow Patrol - 239
Muse are the only band to retain the same position as last year, with a departure from Snow Patrol and Yeti. New entries include Radiohead and Patrick Wolf. The top five is pretty static, but there is often a lot of movement in the bottom five, and it's worth noting that Radiohead only overtook Belle & Sebastian very recently.
