Hey Endy--how's the world been treating you? 1300+ plays for Duncan Sheikh? Are you a charter member of his fan club or something ?(LOL). I like his music too--just wish last.FM would play a broader selection. Enjoy the autumn. I'm certainly ready for some cooler weather after the scorcher of a summer we had here.

hm, the overall tag for DCD would be 'world music'. "American Dreaming" is a bit of an exception though there are a few similar tracks on "Toward The Within" such as "Don't Fade Away" or "I Can See Now".... - recommendation: Brendan Perry's solo work might appeal to you :)

You're very welcome - but never trust the playlist. There's so much trash in mine, i constantly find myself skipping and cringing. Well, nothing wrong with American Dreaming - but the musical enigma that is Dead Can Dance has a lot more to offer ;)

ohlittlefat Hello, James Blake is very goodlooking and he makes fantastic music, I totally fall in love with his voice, most of his songs are highly emotional, added by pure piano or a little bit electronic, I think you might enjoy it :)

Hi Endy--how have your lessons progressed on becoming the next Brian Boitano? Ice storms truly suck. Fortunately, we haven't had a bad ice storm here since November, 2007. We got four inches of snow overnight here, and thanks to those rassin' frassin' moles in my yard, I think I've got a headstart on having one of the best moguls courses in Illinois (LOL)! Hope your commute to and from work isn't too harrowing.

Thanks for the song! Individually, the Beatles created their share of memorable songs after they broke up. We had a White Christmas, which is OK with me (never had enough of them when I was younger)...thunderstorms and 65 degrees on New Year's Eve! Finally got a chance to wash my filthy car, so it looks almost show-room new! Hope Santa was good to you.

Off for the rest of the year? Lucky! Freezing rain came and turned everything into a skating rink here. It's pretty weird walking on the grass and hearing it crunch!

It's not technically winter, but Ma Nature could care less--blistering winds and blowing snow on Sunday. Frigid temps Monday and Tuesday morning. Returning to a bit of normal on Wednesday (just hoping the freezing rain stays away)! Christmas is nearly wrapped up for me (hopefully by Friday night), so I can enjoy a week or so of visiting with friends and relatives.

As expected, the flurries came and actually stuck around for a while. We got a little dusting of white stuff, but it was pretty much gone by noon. Still, it looked nice, and none of the drivers I encountered on the way to work freaked out over the fact that the snow was sticking to the pavement!

My cousin turned me onto to CCR when I was a kid. "Down on the Corner" was the first song of theirs I remember--they had a distinctive sound, just like the Beach Boys, Beatles, Stones, et al. As for Frampton, I think he did some good stuff that wasn't as well known as the mega-popular "Frampton Comes Alive" album. Everybody and their dog seemed to own that piece of vinyl!

Endy my man--how's things going in the home stretch of July? Thanks for the Frampton song. Just finished cleaning up the basement aftermath of 5 inches of rain in three hours Saturday night!!!! Yeah, it was yucky, but somebody had to do it!
