Now that the coughing, chills and lack of energy have subsided, it's time for an update. Man, dontcha just LOVE winter? Apologies for an abbreviated update this week.

Apparently the news that George Strait and Reba McEntire were the co-headliners at the opening events for the new Dallas Cowboys stadium put folks in a mood, as the two tied with Lee Ann Womack for the most plays this week, with 17. The other LeAnn, LeAnn Rimes, is among the group of 6 with 16 plays. Some of the perennials in this list are at #10, so let's see if I can go a whole update without mentioning them.

Brad Paisley has the top album with 5th Gear, which had 11 listeners. Shania Twain, who's getting ready to return to the country music world, still has some devoted listeners from her glory days, as Come on Over tied with the latest CDs from Trisha Yearwood and Miranda Lambert with 10 fans.

Over in the Singles Chart, the top tracks, with 7 listeners each, were Sugarland (dangit) and It Happens, Taylor Swift (dangit!) and White Horse and Lady Antebellum and Love Don't Live Here. Randy Houser hit the Top 10, with Anything Goes getting 6 listeners. He was joined by, among others, The Wreckers and Leave the Pieces. Speaking of, head to www.the9513.com for a review of the new single Boy Like Me from former Wrecker Jessica Harp.

For free music, I'm offering up The Felice Brothers, a quartet from the country music mecca of New York. The LaftFM page calls them rock/country, but I get more of a Bob Dylan/The Band vibe from them, as accordions and banjos are frequently heard in the mix. The good kind of banjo playing too, not the crap that gets tacked on to country songs these days to prove that it actually IS a country song. They've got more than a dozen free songs available, so you've got plenty of songs to choose from. A couple of my favorites were Don't Wake the Scarecrow and Greatest Show on Earth.

Thanks for being part of the group, and welcome to the recently joined members. Don't forget to bookmark The 9513, as there's plenty of news and reviews there every day, along with a pretty active discussion forum too.
