Thanks for the heads up Jereme. I'll look that comic strip up and see where it leads me. Erykah Badu is the sort of soul/neo-soul music I really dig on. Like The Roots, Badu's music has a multiplicity and a lot of transitional qualities about it I find audibly engaging and artistically creative musically. She's always gonna be consistently near the top of any of my charts.

I actually like The Listening the most of all of the Little Brother albums. I am not sure if it is because the production is a little rough or the lyrics are so much more personal. I like all of their material but The Listening gets the most spin for me.

Yeah I definitely wanna get more of their music. Don't get me wrong and I hope I haven't given you the wrong impression... I'm not a hater of their music but, I'm not a lover of it.... yet. 8) A lot of music takes its time to grow on my skin and into my being.... but as you suggest there is music that just does it for you from the outset and you know that as soon as you hear the first track. I'll touch base with you again and we can throw around some more subjective opinions after I sample "the minstrel show"....

tracks like "Love Joint Revisited" I really dig! The heavy drum-line and bass back-beat coupled with the soulful harmonies I particularly like and have an affinity/empathy for....

sorry, typed the wrong key.... yeah I was thinking the sound is a little different from what normally expect/listen to, look for or connect with. I think it's more about not being exposed to their music for any length of time other than limited recent rotations. Subjectively, for me there's less "polish" in the transition of and the combination of beats and lyrics. I could easily assume that's indicative of production and recording in-experience[?] I could also easily assume that aspect of their music content will change with the production of more albums. Not bagging them at all.... I think their is a lot of potential in "Little Brother".... I just think the potential is still being realised.

Yeah got to listen to a few tracks from the album " The Listening". It's a little different to me, perhaps a little less than what I kind-of expected.

Hey man. Just seen "Little Brother" in your library, (never heard of them before), I'm gonna look them up. As a top listener if I ask you to review them what would that review read like?
