I need to visit your profile more often and listen to your top tracks. I recall that we share similar views on the Red Sparowes stuff (philosophically) and post-rock/post-metal in general. We used to have a high compatibility, so we must have split in different paths on the musical highway in the last few years. I must rediscover that which has been lost! Anyway, have you published any writing yet?

Sorry about blowing up your shoutbox dude! In a completely different direction... I was wondering if you heard the Mogwai remix album and what ya thought of it. And since you seem to enjoy post-rock, whether you were into Gifts From Enola and had jammed their latest album. Peace...

Yah. They've always been a favorite of mine and their newest Book Burner is kicking my ass still. Grind is tough man... Most either love it or can't listen to it at all. Even fans of extreme music. So many bands blur the line as to whether they're grind, death metal, powerviolence, hardcore...or somewhere in between. If you wanna go to the source, you're talking about old Napalm Death, Carcass, Brutal Truth, Siege, Extreme Noise Terror, Terrorizer, Repulsion. All are bands worth checking out if you haven't...esp ND and Carcass. I would start with Nasum and Rotten Sound. They happen to be my favorite pure grind bands of the modern era, although Nasum is no more. Kill The Client, Magrudergrind, Wormrot, Insect Warfare, Discordance Axis...imho, they all are standouts in the genre. Dude, I could post you a list a mile long...and as far as albums go...lol. Might need a PM for that! You could do a lot worse than starting with Nasum and RS... Feel free to ask for recs! Cheers!

What are your thoughts on the new War From a Harlots Mouth? It's a little too by the numbers for me... I'm not a huge fan but I do like their earlier stuff. The last couple, for me, are technically flawless but not much substance...nothing that sticks to the ribs. I admire the skillz but don't find it all that memorable, and the vox...hmmm. Just my opinion. Fear Before The March of Flames...nice.

Thanks for the rec my friend, I'll give it a look see. And yeah, Queens... Some of my favorite songs have Nick's vox. He gives them a totally different dynamic. I love the first s/t album but SFTD is the bomb, no doubt...and Rated R. As far as I know Grohl is drumming on the new one too, that's a done deal. Almost guarantees a winner. Now all we need is for Josh to slip on his Kyuss shoes and we're all set... (Ain't gonna happen) One can always wish!

Noted. Don't even know where to start with Coheed...lol. Btw, I just read Nick O. is doing some vox on the new QotSA album which is sweet. Personally, I miss the dude. He contributed more than people think.

Word... A lot of bands that take time to get into yield the best results once you do. Neurosis and Converge were like that for me and Swans. I'm sure TMV will be no different. I'm gonna give Coheed a rip one of these days as well. And, with very few exception do I not find something to like about every release by bands I consider myself a fan of. Of course one has favorites. Searching for music that I'm passionate about has been a lifelong quest. Right on man.

"I don't know Johnny Rotten.
But I'm sure,...I'm sure he puts as much blood and sweat into what he does as Sigmund Freud did.
You see, what, what sounds to you like a big load of trashy old noise... is in fact... the brilliant music of a genius....."
