techno is completely misinterpreted by mainstream music followers as just any style of electronically created music. this is the reason why many of the tagged artists dont belong because their music bares no resemblance to REAL techno, being detroit techno.

techno is a confusing and unspecific genre nowdays. lots of artists like daft punk and the prodigy are up here because techno became a generalized term for lots of different types of dance music over the years that actually hardly bare any resemblance to detroit techno, and techno just became a genre which people thought was this or that because it has become such a generalized term.
