Gothic metal

El metal gótico (en inglés: gothic metal) es un subgénero del metal, el cual se originó a comienzos de 1990 en Europa como una encarnación del death/doom, una fusión de death metal y doom metal. La música del metal gótico es diversa con bandas conocidas que adoptan el gótico acercándose a los estilos diferentes del heavy metal. Lacuna Coil shouldn't be here, they're not gothic anymore. Nightwish were never gothic. So weren't Within Temptation, despite their early works being close to it. The fact Evanescence are here is plain insulting to the actual goth bands. I'm surprised that Tristania isn't in the top

technical??? bollox! it's a romantic sound, i'm just not sure where the new bands are coming from - great Scandinavian bands like SOTB, Silentium, TOT and Beseech gone (as far as i know), bands like Tristania and Sirenia dead in all but name and even Draconian not the power it was (last album! Lisa gone!)... there are a few great bands like Dark the Suns and Ava Inferi you might tag GM but where are the new bands? the only light on the horizon i can see (hope i'm wrong) is the Canadian duo The Beckoning <3
