Deathcore

I'm fine with being in the majority. I listen to music for fun. I don't see why you call me a part of the majority in an insulting manner. I understand and appreciate bands that are art, but that's not what I enjoy listening to on a regular basis. I know most of what I listen to isn't groundbreaking, but I'm not going to argue with what sounds good to me. If that means disposable music, so be it. I don't equate music taste with level of intelligence anyway There's a lot more to life than music taste, and some people aren't deeply interested enough in music to care about it on a deep level. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are dumb people.

Commercialism as in listening to music because of social reasons or commercialism in a sense of listening to less sophisticated music? The former would make bobo an idiot because it would be suggesting that if you enjoy listening to music, you listen to it for its artistic quality. Though you make it difficult by saying "If you listen to a song and if it only affects in a lyrical, social, or rhythmic base than the song isn't worth much merit of true art." What then makes music art?

Brainwashed by what? What is wrong with reading about art/music aesthetics? It's not like it's all written in stone, it's still up to the reader to make up their own mind in some ways. Although I got less interested in most rock and rap music after learning more about aesthetics.

Also, i'm not saying it's bad to listen to music like that. You just have to recognize that it's not music that will affect music for generations to come, or push boundaries.

Of course it's more convenient, that's why it's more widespread. I never said that i'm more intelligent than you nor do I believe I am. Music shouldn't be solely based on entertainment or else it's just as good as fucking Family Guy. My parents have brought me up to appreciate art, because not very many people do.....and obviously you are part of that majority bobo.

Commercialism is a lot more convenient/fun than shunning commercialism. victimofadown is one of those kids who thinks listening to music as an "art form" makes him more intelligent than those simpletons who just want to be entertained. How dare they want to enjoy themselves?

'"commercial value" does not exist in music, try to be serious here.' What? How is that not serious and are you retarded? If a musician pursues a form but has no level of uniqueness and do this for a commercial gain, then they are not an artist. If you listen to a song and if it only affects in a lyrical, social, or rhythmic base than the song isn't worth much merit of true art. This is commercialism, the main cause of this is the less focus of music/art education in our academics. If you think about it, popular musicians of popular forms of music are getting less and less sophisticated with time. People see forms of music as simply cultures and groups of people and ignore the artistic content. Commercialism, is being more interested in a form of music in a social sense instead of a artistic sense.

"No way to measure taste since it depends on the listener. The only exception is diversity, as generally those with more diverse tastes have to be more selective - else they'll end up listening to almost every artist in existence. Bad taste simply means music you don't like." -- You fucking fag. Just a few months ago you were pushing the exact opposite narrative. You sicken me.
