Indicios de este genero hacen referencia a Rage Against The Machine y Faith No More como los creadores de este genero, ya que fueron los primeros en fusionar un poco de rock alternativo junto con heavy metal, a la vez, hay fusiones de este que en vez de heavy metal, lo hacen hasta con metal extremo como es el caso de Slipknot, así es como el genero a ido variando poco a poco, su popularidad sigue en pie gracias a grupos como System of a Down y Slipknot. Who cares what genre they are, if you like there music then fuck it. I'm not a fan, but I don't think Slipknot are Nu Metal, there style is quite diverse, definitely with there earlier stuff. Hence they are not definable and are alternative

Slipknot is not Nu Metal. It was on self-titled album. Does Vermillion or left Behind sounds like a nu metal song ? NO. Now Disturbed has some alternative metal songs and mudvayne as well but korn is not alternative metal.

If you guys have listened what Corey have said in interviews... He said that All Hope is Gone is thrash influenced album. If some bands are influenced by other genre doesnt mean that they belong to this particular genre. slipknot is still Nu/Metal.
