paraheart: Foo Fighters kind of spawned from Nirvana with Dave Grohl, the first album perhaps had grunge elements, and people are kind of stupid here...they think a person from a genre and all of his side projects means that it's ok to tag the side projects with the tags from the original band (progressive rock for Maynard James Keenan, stoner rock for all of QOTSA-member projects, etc...). What you should look at is the order of the tags on an artist page. For true grunge bands like Soundgarden, grunge will be among the first tags, but if you look at the Foo Fighters, you'll see grunge is only 4th. It's kind of psychology related. I'll be writing some shit about it in a journal regarding similar artists.
