Espero que me disculpen, esta es mi primer nota, y es para disentir con una opinión muy comercial pero inexacta, decir que Bocelli es similar a Pavarotti es una falta de respeto al gran tenor recientemente fallecido. Bocelli es un buen cantante y nada más, Pavarotti fue el último gran tenor lírico. Disculpen los que no estan de acuerdo, es mi opinión.

I think we ought to understand the term "tag" - as it is generally accepted, and use it accordingly. Thus, tag or label, should contain only a "brief description given for purposes of identification", and leave little room for subjective interference, at least for the library's sake. Furthermore, "classical" as a tag (in a musical context and again, of general acceptance) would be a "traditional genre of music conforming to an established form and appealing to critical interest and developed musical taste" (Princeton's WordNET). Moreso, I disagree with this website's decision of posting the quasi-unabridged introduction of the "Classical music" article from Wikipedia (just replacing 2-3 words), since we could have all done the exact thing. I was expecting, on the other hand, that a professional musician would take some initiative and write a more particular description of "Classical music". I, for instance, tend to associate "classical" with "symphonic", for a better understanding.

Okay, I've been tagging orchestras appearing in my library with no previous tags as 'classical' - in the popular sense of the word, not as in c1750-1800. This is purely to give a general idea of how much I listen to and is compatible with Last.fm's tag description: 'a broad term that usually refers to music produced in, or rooted in the traditions of Western liturgical and secular music, encompassing a broad period from roughly the 9th century to present times'. 'Classical' is really the only practical thing I can tag an orchestra with, as undoubtedly there will be variation in the works played. If anyone has any better suggestions (which don't involve changing orchestras as artist names to the relevant composer) I'll be happy to consider them.
