POSITIVA se forma en Bilbao, en el 2002 a partir de la disolución de Subliminal y Gilah Monster, donde tocaban Julen (batería) y Txetxu (bajista) respectivamente. A ellos se unen Miguel (guitarra y voz, x-Bliss, x-Shisha Pangma) y Julio (guitarra y voz, x-Bliss) quienes completan la formación de la banda.
A mediados del 2004 graban su primera demo y comienzan a dar conciertos, en los cuales en 6 años han compartido escenario con grupos de la talla de Los Natas, Amon Ra, Nebula, Viaje a 800, The Sword… , Eagles Of Death Metal, The Soulbreaker Company, Loan, Mother Superior, Year Long Disaster, Moho, The Last Vegas, The Atomic Bitchwax, Sexty Sexers, Warchetype, Lords Of Bukkake, Blood of the Sun, Valient Thorr o Motörhead…
En 2005 graban la segunda demo para probar los temas a introducir en su debut, «Centaur’s Ride», editado en Enero 2007 por el sello independiente cántabro Odio Sonoro, el cual recibe excelente criticas.
A principios del 2008 Julen deja la banda para dedicar su tiempo completo a Rhino, dejando paso a Unai, que es el actual batería de Positiva y con quien han grabado su segundo larga duración, «Prodigal Songs» (Odio Sonoro 2009).
