Young Jeezy (nacido como Jay Jenkins el 28 de septiembre de 1977) es un popular rapero norteamericano de Hawkinsville, Georgia, pero criado en Macon, Georgia (también conocido como Mactown). Actualmente reside en Atlanta, y se ha especializado en southern rap, donde es uno de los artistas más codiciados del momento. Antiguamente, firmó por Bad Boy Records como miembro del cuarteto Boyz N Da Hood. Ahora en solitario forma parte de Def Jam Records. Actualmente hay ciertos rumores de que está saliendo con la cantante de R&B Solange Knowles, hermana menor de Beyoncé Knowles, tras la reciente ruptura del rapero de Atlanta con la también cantante de R&B, Keyshia Cole.Con Boyz N Da Hood sacó disco en 2005, con el mismo título que el grupo, logrando llegar el top 5 en la lista Billboard 200 Álbumes. El debut en solitario de Young Jeezy con Def Jam Records, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, se puso a la venta el 26 de julio de 2005. Debutó con un número #2 y vendió 172.000 copias durante la primera semana. El álbum incluye algunos de los éxitos que más han sonado en 2005 y ahora en 2006, como «And Then What» (feat. Mannie Fresh), «Soul Survivor» (feat. Akon), «My Hood», y ha colaborado en otros como «So Icy» de Gucci Mane (con el cual estuvo y está en guerra por los derechos de autor), «Dem Boyz» de Boyz N Da Hood, o el single de Christina Milian «Say I»

En 2005, Young Jeezy grabó un remix de «Go Crazy» con Jay-Z y Fat Joe, que obtuvo un éxito sonado. En este año también grabó el mixtape Best of Both Hoods junto a Juelz Santana.

I saw Jeezy and Gucci doin that shit, that beef always seemed glamorized by media to me. If you watch the videos on it everyone is biased. Then the only person that had a neutral stance on the subject wasn't even completely sure of what happened, he pulled a "i heard it from someone, whose name i forgot" type shit. Then the fans just chose their sides after that. Seriously go watch one of the beef videos and if you don't think that shit sounds like a media beef you're blind. The whole thing is based off he said this, he said that type shit.

Thats the thing with Jeezy, he isn't the most lyrical but as far as him and Gucci go, Jeezy has him beat easily. Jeezy also seems to have more passion, energy and emotion in his tracks.

I think Thug Motivation and The Inspiration are damn near equal in quality, The Inspiration maybe more well-rounded, and even the better album, but the impact of TM101 can't be ignored.
