24 Abr 2006, 19:05 de momentaloneA fairly uneventful beginning to a day. Woke up around 12, had a shower, dropped off Ru at Murano and headed off to Philosophy. After Philosophy, headed for the Computer Sci. Lab to finish off coding an ATM machine. Just "a day in the life of"... you could say.
However, on the way to my car I realised something. Something primal; something so overwhelmingly influential... that it can break even the most disciplined people; shatter the most carefully ordered plans.
I realised; that I quite desperately needed the toilet.
Cursing myself for not going before I left the Boyd Orr Building, I evaluated the options open to me.
A) I could plod all the way back to the Boyd Orr Building.
B) I could take an irritating detour to where I work (the CO-OP) use their toilets.
C) Hold it in.
D) See if that fancy lecture theatre over the road has toilets.
Of course option C was unacceptable; as was A & B I reasoned.
29 Ene 2006, 22:10 de kenoshakidGod I'm so pissed off!
Just went to see Bob Mould in my hometown.
I abolutely adore this guy. He made the music I grew up with.
Hüsker Dü. Sugar. His solo albums. Intense stuff. Loud guitars. Meaningful lyrics.
I already saw him a couple of months ago with a band and they were excellent.
Tonight he was going to play solo, so I knew the vibe was going to be somewhat different. Well, nothing prepared me for this:
Chairs. I had to sit in a chair. What the f___?!
I want to rock! No, not the 'Fist in the air + Headbanging' variation. I want to move my body along with the music. Some people might call it dancing (but not those who can see me). Chairs absolutely prohibit this.
What next? Eine Kleine Nachtmusik? An der schönen blauen Donau?
I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!
PS: The music was good. He started with a bunch of acoustic numbers (best: Hoover Dam), and about halfway switched to electric (I Apologize, Makes No Sense at All, Circles). …
