Wolfchant es una banda que se formó en St. Oswald, Bayern (Alemania) en agosto del 2003 por Lokhi, Gaahnt, Skaahl y Norgahd.
En agosto de 2005, firmaron un contrato discográfico con CCP Records. Con su primer larga duración «Bloody Tales of Disgraced Lands» (2005), la banda se ganó el respeto de la prensa, fanzines y alcanzó muchisima popularidad. En febrero de 2007, Nattulv entró en la banda después de que su guitarrista, Gaahnt, dejara la banda por razones familiares. Al poco tiempo abandonó también el puesto para formar asi su proyecto Festung Nebelung, dejándolo libre para su actual bajista, Bahznar.
Ese mismo año, salió a la venta su nuevo disco «A Pagan Storm», un album que les ha colocado entre las mejores bandas de Pagan Metal de Alemania.
La banda está clasificada como viking metal con influencias del black metal, pagan metal y power metal.
La parte lírica de Wolfchant se centra en la mitología nórdica y en las leyendas y cuentos populares.
