In the 90’s, I didn’t listen to much in the way of music. I owned four albums maybe, Spin Doctor's “Pocket Full Of Kryptonite” The Offspring’s “Smash” The Red Hot Chili Pepper’s “One Hot Minute” and Weezer’s “Weezer (Blue Album)” and really, that was all the music I needed to be happy. But I grew up and got more into music and at some point, stepped on my copy of Weezer’s album.

It wasn’t until recently that I can really say what a tragedy this was. I relisten to this album now and it brings up all those great times of innocence and fun. Because that’s what this music is to me, just upbeat music that makes me happy. Technically it’s not the most impressive album, but why should that matter? Just good memories and good songs.

I could really go song by song and say what I like about them. “My Name Is Jonas” has a great change in riff when the lyrics that come in and Cuomo’s whine really keep the energy up. “No One Else” is my favorite track on the album…

10. Dos Dedos Mis Amigos - Pop Will Eat Itself
Reflections: This album, though not widely known, is one of my favorites. It's odd, but it really rocks. The Poppies were never big in America (I caught them once on tour with NIN and Manson), but after seeing the video for 'Ich Bin Ein Auslander' late night one day on MTV, I picked up the album, and was blown away. Produced by NIN's Reznor, his influence shows everywhere.

Hello there. It is I. I figured will make a journal about my all-time favorite albums. Well, let's get started!

Revolver
This is one of my favorite albums, and depending on when you're asking, my favorite Beatles album. While Magical Mystery Tour was the first Beatles album I heard, this was the first that really got me hooked. It has some of my all-time favorite songs, like I'm Only Sleeping and She Said She Said. At this point in their careers', the Beatles were in full-force psychedelic pop. From the opening studio banter in Taxman, to the fade out on Tomorrow Never Knows, one of their best songs, their is never a dull moment.



The Fury of the Aquabats
The Aquabats are really great fun. It is really the only ska band I really love. Their music has great energy, and it is fun and enjoyable for all ages. It is great music for rocking out to, as well. It is, for lack of a better phrase, "totally HxC!" The opening song, Super Rad, is one of the most famous ska songs of all time. …

Citirao sam u naslovu najveći hit jednog eminentnog hrvatskog pjevača, ali u središtu moje današnje litanije neće biti don Ivo, nego prije najavljeni Blue Album, odnosno Weezer. Taj album je bio jedan od mojih prvih doticaja sa nekakvom nazovi alternativnom glazbom, barem alternativnom u odnosu na Riblja Čorba. U to neko vrijeme, čini mi se 1998., čuo sam Buddy Holly od Weezera i Sink to the Bottom od Fountains Of Wayne, još jednog benda koji je ostavio velik utisak na mene u mladosti. E pa dakle, taj Buddy Holly mi je zbilja ušao u uho, te sam odlučio poslušati što se skriva iza piva, tko se šunja oko žbunja i tko se mota oko plota, pa sam posudio kazetu od prijatelja. Ovo posudio bi moglo i pod navodnike, jer mu tu kazetu do dana današnjeg nisam vratio, i ona mi je jedna važna uspomena, kao primjerice mašnica za kosu od djevojke koju sam prvi put poljubio ili moje prve štake.

Album počinje uspješnicom My Name Is Jonas, za koju sam uvijek mislio da je veći hit nego što je, nažalost, očito ja uvijek prepoznam krivu pjesmu kao hit. …
