Would work better as a All-American Rejects song.

Kolosomo is spot on. Most of lyrical content on Raditude is terrible. As soon as I heard it I thought the same thing about them going backwards musically. Even the song arrangements are childish. I do, however, also like this song despite how basic it is. It's one of the only okay songs on the album. At the other end of the Raditude spectrum, "In the Mall" just makes me want to blow my brains out. It's so horrible.

i agree that weezer have always been a radio and pop band, no one is disputing that. the fact is this song lacks the character that the band used to have. rivers used to write personal songs that actual meant something. the lyrics of this song sound like they could've been written by any 13 year old kid. rivers is the benjamin button of music. but with that said, i like the song even if it's not exactly unique. there is a place for generic fluff in the world, i just wish weezer wasn't providing it

This song is probably my favorite off the new album. (2)

This song is terrible, Weezer has lost sight of what made them good in the past. Weezer have always been poppy but in a GOOD way, not like this all american rejects type shit. They have lost their character, this song could be interchangeable with a million other shitty artists, and thats something you couldn't really ever say about weezer's old stuff even though it was melodic and poppy.

It makes me crack up how all these people are claiming Weezer are going "generic pop" and shit... Weezer have ALWAYS been a fucking radio band and a pop band... what planet are you living on? If you're some indie snob who expects everything to be "different", then why are you even listening to Weezer in the first place?

This is good, generic pop music. I love it. It's generic, yet you know it's Rivers. The lyrics are silly, but the vocal quality is amazing.

  • temudgin

this is a highlight. short sharp, Rivers doing it well. "and when i day dream, we're eating ice-cream!" quality.

  • Kolosomo

i was referring to the lyrics moreso than anything else. just terribly bland

  • poppunknerd182

To anyone saying this is generic...most of Weezer's stuff has ALWAYS been generic rock chords. My Name Is Jonas? MUCH more generic than this.

    this one isn't bad. ...

Generic, but not quite as generic as most of Green or Make Believe. Rivers actually sounds conscious here.

This song could have been done by any rock band. It sounds so generic.....oh, Weezer, why have you done this?.......

definitely generic. i like it though, it's catchy.
