Vienna Teng , cuyo nombre verdadero es Cynthia Yih Shih.Nace el 3 de octubre de 1978 en Saratoga (California) USA.Sus ascendientes son de Taiwan.
Hasta la fecha ha editado cuatro discos Waking Hour (2002), Warm Strangers (2004), and Dreaming Through The Noise (2006), Inland Territory (2009). A partir de los cinco años estudio piano clasico el cual le fue de gran influencia. Estudio ciencias informaticas en la universidad de Standford graduandose en el año 2000, luego trabajo de ingeniero de software para Cisco Systems y en su tiempo libre seguia componiendo canciones, fue en el Show de David Letterman en el 2003 que se dio a conocer mas ampliamente.
