Velvet Acid Christ (VAC) es una banda de - residente en Denver, Colorado, Estados Unidos. VAC se forma en 1990 como complemento creativo a la frustración emocional que sufrían los miembros de la banda debido al abuso de drogas, aunque desde entonces la banda ha evolucionado musicalmente junto con Bryan Erickson el único miembro actual. La banda tuvo bastante fama en la escena club underground de Europa durante los 90.

Tras participar en bandas de música punk, Bryan Erickson comenzó a acercarse más al gótico y al industrial, llegando a admitir que en sus principios, The Cure y Siouxie and the Banshees fueron grandes influencias para él, algo que en su música no aparece por ningún lado. Según confiesa él mismo:»Al principio éramos un cruce entre Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, LPD y The Cure. Sonábamos como una copia mala de todos esos grupos mezclados». Por aquel entonces el grupo estaba compuesto por Bryan Erickson y su amigo Grig, y fue un periodo de aprendizaje para ambos. Dado que componiendo el música que hacían Cyberchrist no llegaba a ninguna parte, decidieron basarse en las experiencias musicales de su infancia. Bryan tocaba el órgano en la iglesia cuando era pequeño (también la guitarra) y Grig sabía tocar el violín y el piano. Partiendo de esa base (actualizada y en clave industrial, claro) consiguieron avanzar en su sonido, pero el grupo se rompió por un motivo realmente bueno: Grig fue detenido y enviado a la cárcel.

    could somebody help me out? i used to listen to industrial A LOT but i got bored with most of the genre except VAC, Front Line Assembly, Suicide Commando and Psyclon Nine, i know almost all the related artists for VAC can anyone reccomend me some UNIQUE industrial? that's my biggest problem with industrial music because so much of it sounds the same
