Heaviest song ever recorded, with the possible exception of some of Swans' early material. Sunn O))) only wish they could be as menacing as this.

So, I am to understand that this is NOT dark and menacing? Bassoon riffs aside, this is evil! But there is beauty in evil.

There's something about the phrase 'bassoon riff' that really appeals to me.

To me, this is 'up there' as one of the greatest progressive classics of all time ('Close to the Edge', etc.). UZ have suffered a bit with the 'dark and menacing' tag (see the typical responses below) but this track encapsulates a range of emotions. If you get through the first ten minutes, the first bassoon 'riff' launches you on an incredible musical journey.

This is way, way better than what I normally dismiss avant-prog as. Can someone please send me a black metal version of this?

I SLOWED THIS DOWN 800% AND WHILE I WAS LISTENING TO IT STEPHEN O'MALLEY AND GREG ANDERSON THREW A BRICK THROUGH MY WINDOW.

There is room in this life for all kinds of darkness. Wyatt would not be 'funny' without something abstract and unforgiving to provide a background.

Life is to short to listen to empty darkness....Gimme darkness that is Full of something (VDGG)....Or i rather listen to Joy of a toy! Intellectuas masturbation! Not scary at all! not funny! not Knock Knick Knock Knicl Knack Knock fully Balloney (Robert Wyatt)
