Oh — forgot to ratiocinate my adoration for this trakK. Particularly the Benicassim performance, though the "studio" cut measures up nicely. Underworld's dabblings in drum 'n' bass have been consistently stellar thus far, especially the much-maligned "Something Like a Mama" (which is one of my favourites — I really can't comprehend people's disdain for it). LOVE.
Fuck YOU Underworld. Seriously, ENOUGH of the vocal-intensive, effervescent house trash. Try listening to your own releases, namely "Second Toughest in the Infants", "Pearls Girl" (the so-called "EP" which far exceeds the "standard" duration) and the re-issue of the "Cowgirl" single). LISTEN to them. Nobody, NOBODY has ever managed to produce anything even approximating the wholly distinctive aura and timbre you guys achieved on these releases. A nocturnal yet visceral sound, oneiric yet emotionally genuine, grim yet groovy. Do it again, PLEASE. The Riverrun series is as near as you've trodden since those triumphant days. You need not "go commercial'. You have a fanbase as dedicated as you could ever hope for. Fuck's sake. Do it!
