Adam Stephens (voz armónica y guitarra ) & Tyson Vogel (batería y voz) son Two Galants . Su nombre se lo deben a un relato de odio y asco sobre la condición humana incluido en “Los Dublineses “ de James Joyce.

Y de Irlanda llega una de las influencias para definir el discurso de los de San Francisco. Si The Pogues se enfrentaban de forma irreverente al cancionero Irlandés, ellos hacen lo mismo con la antología completa de música folk compilada por Harry Smith. O sea folk , country & blues pasado por el tamiz enérgico del punk. Música de taberna con sonidos honky-.tonk que destila olor al whisky de los escenarios de Mission Street (San Francisco)que los han visto nacer. Debutaron en Alive Records, disco en el que incluían una maravillosa versión de la murder ballad “Crow Jane“ que Skip James y Nick Cave ya habían grabado con anterioridad. Saddle Creek , es su nuevo sello en el cual son el bicho raro, por actitud . Con un pie en la riba del cancionero Dylaniano (el clasicismo) y otro en las innovaciones musicales de John Fahey (la vanguardia), el resultado es una especie de versión acústica de los White Sitrpes. También como Dylan son contadores de historias. Su último largo, grabado en los independientes estudios Tiny Telephone, dónde entre otros han grabado Death Cab for Cutie y Jolie Holland, les otorga un puesto de honor en la música americana de raíz. Y su directo, en su última visita a España ya lo demostraron, es uno de sus puntos fuertes.

I talked to Tyson Vogel, the drummer, last night in Amsterdam. And the album will probably get released February next year. They're still working on it at this moment.

when is the new album coming out anyway? i had no idea about a new 2GS record till they played a bunch of brand new songs last night in Münster, and I gotta agree with the previous posts that the album is probably gonna be great. liked all the new songs at first listen and even loved two of them rightaway, especially the slower one where tyson joins in on the vocals. in Münster they even sang into the same microphone which was great. i believe the song was called 'Broken Eyes'... can't wait for the new album!!
