The Zutons son una banda británica cuya música resulta muy difícil de clasificar. Aun así, la han descrito como «punk psicodélico de dibujos animados» con un deje único de rock pop, jazz y funk, y generalmente ecléctica.
Los Zutons se formaron en Liverpool (Reino Unido) en 2001. Cogieron su nombre del guitarrista de Magic Band Bill Harkleroad, más conocido como Zoot Horn (o «Zuton») Rollo. Como todos los miembros son de Liverpool, frecuentemente les han comparado con The Coral, sobre todo porque graban con la misma discográfica -Deltasonic- y tienen el mismo productor, Ian Broudie. Su álbum debut «Who Killed the Zutons?» (¿Quién mató a Los Zutons?) fue lanzado el 18 de octubre de 2004 y alcanzó el número 9 en la lista de ventas del Reino Unido.
Su segundo álbum se titula «Tired of Hangin’ Around», con canciones tan destacadas comoValerie o Tired Of Hangin’ Around («Cansado de merodear» o «Cansado de perder el tiempo»).
Los miembros de la banda son:
David McCabe: vocalista y guitarra,
Boyan Chowdhury: guitarrista principal y acompañamiento vocal,
Abi Harding: saxofón y acompañamiento vocal,
Sean Payne: batería, percusión y acompañamiento vocal,
y Russell Pritchard en el bajo y acompañamiento vocal.
