The Presets son un dúo electrónico de Sydney, Australia, conformado por Julian Hamilton y Kim Moyes. En septiembre de 2005 lanzaron su álbum debut, Beams, con una respuesta positiva de los críticos. Julian Hamilton y Kim Moyes también tocan en The Dissociatives, proyecto manejado por el frontman de Silverchair Daniel Johns, y el productor Paul Mac. Además, Hamilton y Moyes son miembros del grupo instrumental de Sidney, llamado Prop.
Kim, además, ha tenido una tranquila carrera como solista tocando en el Club 77 de Sidney con el grupo local llamado Bang Gang el cual puso a The Presets y a Kim en su álbum Ministry of Sound Mashed Nº2. Kim es el productor del grupo y también ayudó a producir el disco de otra banda local, Los Valentinos. The presets son parte del la compañia disquera independiente Modular Recordings, casa de The Avalanches, Cut Copy y Wolfmother.
