All this song is telling me is the singer is grumpy, maybe bored with where he lives, with a song using a really generic indie rock song sound and structure. Break out!: try some songs at twice the speed with no guitar/all bass; or two drummers, horns, one guitar; have some horrible life trauma you recover from and write about.
