«The Most Serene Republic» lo componen un grupo de veinteañeros -en el mejor sentido de la palabra- de Toronto. Lenssen y el vocalista Adrian Jewett crean la banda en 2003 como un escape a la rigidez universitaria.
En 2006 sufre cambios al incorporar una sección nueva de ritmos con el bajista Simon Lukasewich y el percusionista Tony Nesbitt-Larking.
El resto de los componentes son la vocalista/guitarrista Emma Ditchburn, y los guitarristas Nick Greaves y Sean Woolven.

- Phages (Noviembre 2006)
- The Most Serene Republic + Headlights (Mayo 2006)
