The Gutter Twins es el nuevo proyecto de Mark Lanegan, que fuera cantante de Screaming Trees y que cuenta con una larga y admirada carrera en solitario, y Greg Dulli, ex-The Afghan Whigs. Ambos son músicos de culto, con muchos fans acérrimos entre los fieles seguidores del rock alternativo de los últimos años pero que nunca llegaron a tener el éxito masivo que tuvieron otros de sus coetáneos.
The Gutter Twins publicaron su primer album, Saturnalia (2008), en marzo de 2008 incluyendo 12 temas que van desde los temas más oscuros y lentos característicos de Lanegan hasta las melodías íntimas que caracterizan a Dulli.
