The Go-Betweens son un clásico absoluto de la historia del pop Internacional de forma ya clara. Todos sus trabajos han labrado una carrera repleta de genialidades con una base de fans enorme a lo largo de todo el planeta. Desde que Grant McLennan y Robert Forster crearon el grupo en 1978 han pasado por mil cosas, desde su estancia en Rough Trade a su aventura Inglesa. Todo en ellos se ha convertido en clásico, discos que forman parte de una trayectoria impecable: Before Hollywood, 16 Lovers Lane, Spring Hill Fair, Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express o su vuelta con The Friends of Rachel Worth.
Oceans Apart es una prueba más de ello. Este disco ha sido elogiado por toda la prensa especializada en Europa, Australia y EE UU. En el 2005 visitan España para presentar las canciones de Oceans Apart que en una primera edición se presenta con un cd extra con 6 canciones en directo realizadas en Londres.
Tambien publican en Mushroom Pillow el single extraido del disco bajo el título de Finding You . Tras estos pasos el gran Grant McLennan fallece en su casa a los 48 años de edad en uno de los mejores momentos de su carrera y el grupo se acaba.

Yay, The Go Betweens now have a bridge named after them in Brisbane, thank god it was up to a vote and a vote where you only needed more than one email to vote more than once. I mean here in Brisbane they have probably only sold 1000 records as most motherfuckas in this city have never heard of them and a poll shows that 85% of the city hates the name, at least now we have a tribute to the greatest Brisbane Band of all time.

So I looked them up on J Play http://www.jplay.com.au/JSite/ViewArtist.aspx?ArtistID=521 and guess what - Triple J has played Go-Betweens tracks only 3 times so far this year - Streets of Your Town twice and Cattle and Cane once. For shame, Triple J !!!
