The Fall of Troy es un grupo originario de Mukilteo (Washington, EEUU), la formación actual de la banda esta compuesta por Thomas Erak (voces y guitarra), Frank Black (bajo y coros), y Andrew Forsman (batería). Black entro en la banda a finales del 2007, remplazando a Tim Ward.
Erak comenzó su carrera musical en el grupo Matt Downs Quartet tocando la guitarra y cantando junto con el bajista Mike Munro y el batería Jay Beaman. El grupo se separó después de publicar un sólo EP. Es entonces cuando Munro y Erak forman la banda de hardcore The 30 Years War, germen de The Fall Of Troy, junto con Tim Ward y Andrew Forsman, saliendo a la venta en esta época dos EP’s. Durante la compisición y planificación de la siguiente grabación, Munro se va de la banda dejando ésta en trío y cambiándose éste de nombre por el actual usando el método que habían utilizado anteriormente con la antigua banda: abrieron una página de un libro de historia al azar y cogieron el nombre que aparecía, en este caso The Fall of Troy.
Desde el 2003, año en que aparece el primer LP homonimo de la banda, The Fall of Troy han seguido publicando a ritmo de un album por año, siendo el 2004 el lanzamiento del EP Ghostships, grabado y promocionado independientemente. Con su siguiente album, Doppelganger, lanzado en 2005, el grupo cambiaría de sello discográfico, formando parte de Equal Vision Records, con los que publicaron al año siguiente una reedicion de su primer album, y el 1 de mayo de 2007 su disco Manipulator, que quizás sea el menos agresivo de su carrera hasta el momento.

in the unlikely event is a really nice change of pace. it has new inventive ideas and overall solid instrumentals while i don't really like the relationship based lyrics i guess everyone has to draw there inspiration from somewhere... the only think that puts it behind the other cd's in my opinion is well.... the fall of troy needs screaming cause Thomas CANNOT sing to save his life he was flat for like the whole album and sings exclusively though his nose. but as far as instrumentals go it is there best work
