This song is an Eritrean protest song, and is sung, I think, by an Eritrean woman (not sure exactly who). Eritrea is a country which has had border conflicts w. Ethiopia. Ethiopia illegitimately controls part of Eritrea which they had agreed (in 90s) to stop controlling. Anyway, they still oppress the Eritreans there. This album references Africa musically and politically. There are also tributes on it to African musicians (Ethiopian sax player Getatchew Mekuria, and Congolese group Kinono 1). They later played with Getatchew. There are a lot of African rhythms at play in this album, and their interest in African music blends together with their interest in African political issues (The Ex being a very politically engaged band)--hence this song.
