The Draft son una banda formada por Jason Black, George Rebelo y Chris Wollard de Hot Water Music, y Todd Rockhill de Black Cougar Shock Unit, Discount y otras bandas de la zona de Gainesville, Florida.
La banda se formó poco después de que Chuck Ragan dejara Hot Water Music. Los tres restantes miembros querían seguir haciendo música juntos, pero no bajo el nombre de Hot Water Music.
En 2006 The Draft comenzó a hacer giras. Su album de debut fue In a Million Pieces, lanzado el 12 de septiembre de 2006.
El 13 de marzo de 2007 se lanza un ep autotitulado.
A mediados de octubre de 2007 lanzan We’ll Never Know/Hard to Be Around It a través de No Idea.
