The Dø es una banda formada en 2007, por el músico y compositor francés Dan Levy y por la compositora graduada en música clásica, en Helsinki, Olivia B. Merilahti de madre finlandesa y padre frances.
Se conocieron en el 2004 durante la grabación de la música para la película «Empire of the Wolves», y siguieron colaborando para la música de las películas «The Passenger» y «Camping Sauvage».
El nombre del grupo está formado por las iniciales de los nombres de sus dos miembros (Dan & Olivia), pero también se refiere a la nota Do.
